While I feel you on the shake that the ARB has while traveling down the road, flimsy is the last word I would use to describe it. I have hit two mule deer and an elk with mine and only had to replace the plastic bumpers on the front. They are stout as hell.
Looking at the Dakars, might anyone have any good techniques for deciding which model to go with? I am certainly heavier than stock on the back end with the topper and gear when I go camp, and will only get heavier with a steel bumper.
I am sure that this has been brought up in the past, but I wanted to bring the question to the surface. I am currently just running Toytec add-a-leafs in the rear as that was all I needed to suit my needs at the time of purchase. I have since added a topper, am about to purchase a rear plate...
I suppose I should add that I was not just limiting myself to the Pro package. I only looked at one because I liked the color and they were giving my numbers out the door within a few bucks of a OffRoad. I am aware that it is, in large part, an appearance package, and I would change the...
$1k a month is an expense I could justify for that sort of time frame for the purpose of doing away with the loan. Any longer than that sort of 1 year sweet spot and I would have to draw back on the amount I'd be spending.
Funny you mention it, sports cars are also my thing. I have no trouble...
Just played a few days of catch up in this thread. Easy y'all, I never intended to get anyone riled up. As I stated in the original post, on top of the improved economy, I was just down right impressed by the driving experience over that of my Tacoma. It was quieter, felt roomier, more planted...
I'd really like to know as well. Everything seems to run just fine. Maybe it's the altitude I live at (6500')? I can do high teens on the highway, so long as I don't break 60-65 mph, trouble is, nowadays the speed limits are up near 80
A lot of great conversation in here. I do know that removing some of my mods would help with my economy. That said, I have made the mods that I have for specific reasons based on past experience and my needs. They suit what I need and are the best balance I have been able to find between daily...
Wow thanks folks. I drive an F150 at work everyday and that’s about the extent of my knowledge into the domestic market. Glad I’m hearing about issues before pulling the trigger.
I know the 2.8 duramax has been in the souteast Asian market for sometime, but I was weary of reliability with all...
Beautiful RAM! Monthly payment cost is something that forgot to ad to my OP. If I were to be out the door with less than $10k financed, I could and would have the truck paid for in right around a year, bringing me back to just maintenance and fuel.
As for economy requirement/expectations: I...
Well, I have hit a bit of an fork in the road. Lately, the economy that i have been achieving in my '15 TRD OR has got my gears turning on options.
I purchased my '15 new, it has 42.5K on the odo, and most importantly, it is paid off. I absolutely love my Taco and I feel it is safe to say that...

More or less like the tile states.
I am currently deployed and one of our trucks is a '13 hilux with the external tie down rails on the bed (like most utes have). It got me wondering if anyone has attempted to acquire a set of these and retrofit them onto a Tacoma? It would be nice to have some...
Posting this up again. I have lowered the asking price to $2500. If you are a classy individual who enjoys drinking beverages that are older than you with your pinkies up, accents you pretend to understand and oxford comma's, this is the rig for you...
