I've got goodyear duratracs in 265/75 and the have yet to let me down. had them in up to 3 feet of wet and dry snow from VA to our property in CO and they just keep going. another plus is that they are pinned to accept studs
That's what im thinking. Even so, just paint them black and this would be a sick hummer for the price. Low miles too

Yet another CL find (i am bored at work). This seems like an amazing deal. If i didn't love my 4runner so much i would trade up. Can check it out for those interested.

Another CL find. Drove by this everday in highschool, quite the beast. Would be a good, cheap place to start. Can check it out for interested parties

Some of you may have read my recent "Gobi vs. BajaRack" thread. Well, after much consideration, I just sent an email to Bajarack with a request for a lower profile version of their full length rack than what they currently have available. I basically proposed for the top rail to remain the same...
I too have heard nothing but good things about bajaracks willingness to listen and customize. I plan to shoot them an email or call about the chances of getting a lower profile full length rack built are. I have also heard about the weight of the gobi's being up there. What affect my fuel...
1911, did you have to drill and bolt with the gobi? the one's that I have seen on other 3rd gens have the front supports bolted to the roof.
joneseyy, I had thought of that and it is definitely on my list of things to do. I would already have a bajarack if the top rail running down the side...
ok, so I am sure this has probably been discussed before, but a search did not yield the results I was looking for.
Before I begin, the rig in question is a 3rd gen 4runner
With the summer travel season rapidly approaching, I am potentially in the market for a roof rack system that can...
watching that video, I am super impressed with how rigid the frame is. Normally, during extreme articulation, you see the bed start to twist away from the cab. Not here. Great testament to how tough and capable this truck is.
thats very true. Nothing irritates me more than reading for sale ads that read "v4 engine". really grinds my gears (punn intended). still may be worth looking in to. theres a guy that comes through my work that has a pristine 40th anniversary with like 50k original miles and i keep asking...
Found this while browsing my local CL. No association what so ever but could potentially check it out for a perspective buyer. Seems like a reasonable deal for a low mileage clean slate. But im a 4runner guy, so what do i know :-p

trust me, i wanted to flip a u-turn and pursue, but i was heading for an appt. as far as military bases, that was one of the first thoughts that came to me since here in the DC area, there are, naturally, plenty of government facilities. what made me laugh to myself was that my first thought...
So I live in the Northern Virginia area (Fairfax) and today while traveling south bound on the Fairfax County Parkway, I passed (going the otherway, northbound) Three flatbed trailers, the contents of which almost gave me a heart attack. the first trailer had two right hand drive, expo'd out...
