It doesn't cost much to hold your spot so it's good you decided. I had a choice between a four, eight and a half or nine hours to get it. I talked to all three builders and decided on Mike.
We come from a camping trailer background so we had a pretty good idea on what we wanted and Mike was...
I hadn't even looked at the Buzz-Off mainly because I'm 6'6" which makes the bed too short for me. I really like your table setup though I'm surprised you use those little bottles of lp. I really like seeing all the cool stuff that people are making.
I was going to build something like this...
We belong to a semi-private club just South of Sacramento and it was 118 one day. It did cool down very quickly in the evening and I think with the fan we should be good. But I'm also the only one who still likes his Canyon cooler ice chest.
We have a road shower and as long as the water is...
We live a lot closer to Treeline but his wait list was quite a bit longer than we wanted to wait, so we went with Wanderlust (I think the SoCal shop is fastest but also busiest). We have a May pickup date, which is perfect for camping.
I'm surprised you want ac. We were in AZ and spent three...
I think you need an inverter if you carry a laptop computer or a cpap machine. All of our stuff is set up for our soon to be 12v dc solar (iPhone, iPad and etc.). We are getting the extended tongue, front tongue box and a custom box that this water tight.
Things I am pretty sure would be easier...
Thank you both for the replies! We're having ours built by Wanderlust but with a May timeframe. We'll be up seeing him in January when he is building another 509xs. There are some things that need to be done while the trailer is being built but there are other things that I will do when I get it...
If/when I get a fridge I'm leaning towards the snomaster brand. I like that I can adjust both temps. I've also been going back and forth between the expanded metal storage or a solid watertight box behind the battery box. Have you anymore pics of your rig?
That is a nice looking setup you have. We spend a bunch of time in Mojave and the place just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Is there anything you would change to you setup if you had to do it again?
They are attached to the frame at three points. Once the wheels are nearly off the ground the entire thing is very stable so you don't have that rocking motion at all. For us it's nice.
Two week in Mojave? Now that sounds like fun. We go there all the time as our first stop to Utah and other...
So I'm old school but I think the sight glass works just fine for me. Not one of those fancy beer making units, just clear plastic tubing with felt pen marks.
This is the back end of my trailer showing my extra water, stairs and my rear jacks. I also have two backup lights that work by remote control (so I don't blind the person behind me).
This is only part of the table that you get when you buy the trailer. I made it useful for us.
And this is...
Seriously I take my pics with a iPhone and if I could figure out how to make this windows based forum turn them in the right direction, I would have a thread. Last time, I sent the pics to someone who fixed them and sent them back to me.
But yes, I went with a scissor stairway, I cut up that...
It's just my woman and I so we have plenty of room. I have a propex heater that does pretty well unless it gets too cold (we don't do cold often). The tent starts to collapse on its hinges around 63 mile per hours gusts in the Mojave desert, we did this twice.
I have to tell you, it we were...
We are at the end of our fourth season with ours at a total of 78 nights this year and have to say that outside of the fact we can't do much winter camping, we have had a blast in it.
That said, we have been looking at a teardrop for the next season mainly because of the two issues we have. One...
So, I was looking at some of the lesser known options and found this one. I like it quite a bit since all of our stuff wouldn't be flying all over the place while we were driving.
What has been your experience with the standard shelving? I also saw that nice mod for your books and maps.
edit, I...
Mike from Wanderlust Overland said almost the same thing about the draw. I have a 4Runner which are notorious for having weak charging systems. I have a dual battery setup in my rig and I will put solar on the trailer and not use the 12v line from the rig. It's worked for me pretty well for four...
So, if you all like refrigerators, do you have a large set of wires going from your battery to a fuse block in your galley, branching off to your various appliances?
Re: Solar panel. Since we tend to drive from day to day we charge our system on the road. We also can go about seven days without...
Thank you for the info. There are so many things on the decision list that we need to make up our minds on. I have a really nice solar power setup on my currant trailer that has a remote control to run exterior lights and other things. This way, if you come back to the trailer in the dark, I...
