Early this year I bought an '02 DC TRD 4WD Tacoma. I sold my well built Rubicon to buy this truck. It is much more practical for someone with my 'ailments' and the wheeling I like to do. The truck will remain my daily driver for a long time so I am keeping absolute streetability in mind...
I know price can be subjective but I am wondering what you guys think it is worth? I am sure the seller is trying to bank on the 'unique' factor.
I love these older D Cab hiluxs. I saw a few when I was in Canada... I guess they can import anything over 15 years old. It's 25 here in the...
So if I were to swap the coils and the rear springs would I be set for suspension? With the adjustable coils is it a challenge getting the right height or are they pretty easy to setup? I want to level the truck out and I read the deaver 8packs net around 1.5" of lift. Will this be too much...
On any other forum I would never post this thread, but being as EXPO is such a great eCommunity I was hoping for advice.
I am thinking of upgrading atleast the front suspension and probably the rear as well. I did all my own work on my Rubicon when I swapped the suspension but I don't feel as...
I am looking for a duffel type bag with plenty of useable space and above all durable construction. I am thinking canvas. Anyone have any suggestions? Please post up what you use and if it works for expedition type travel. I don't mind spending money on a quality product... I rather spend...
Has anyone installed a 12v connection in the bed of there early Tacoma? I have seen it in the newer Tacomas from the factory and would like something like that for running a fridge. Curious to know if any has any ideas.
Cheers,
Josh
Hey all!
I have had my Taco for close to a month now and am loving it! It is a big change from the Rubicon I had before, in a good way. I love the power doors and locks, the extra space, and the ride is infinitely better on pavement. I'm know I am going to miss driving with the doors off...
I wish they would offer up some other sizes. They look like a promising tire. Right now I'm torn between the BFG ATs and the Nitto Terra Grapplers, I deal with more mud then rocks and have seen the BFGs gum up and not clean all that well.
CA-RJ,
Where did you find the Nittos at that price...
Funny this thread gets brought back!
Taco Chaser your build looks amazing and is pretty much what I want to do.
Well the first step is complete, I just bought an '02 DC TRD Taco. I am going to keep paying on it until I own more and then go crazy building it to suit my WANTS. That may be some...
I am looking for 4 265/75-16 BFG All Terrains for my Tacoma. Anyone find them cheap? Tirerack quoted me around $648 before shipping and Dicount tire was around $740 w/ shipping.
Thanks
Josh
Quick thread hijack.
To those of you that went to 235/85s or 265/75s did you notice a loss in power with stock gearing? I drive an '02 DC TRD Taco, not sure about the gearing, and I hesitate to go bigger.
On my previous Rubicon when I went to 255s with an auto the gearing was absolutely...
What kind of bumper is that? I am looking for something like that for my Taco. It isn't as BULKY the ARB. I bought an '02 Tacoma 2 weeks ago and your truck gave me my first bit of buyers remorse. I love the my truck, but that is a great setp up on your 4Runner.:26_7_2: .

I'm not sure if this has been done in the Cruiser section yet but I'd like to see everyones cruisers in one spot. Please include stats so people can emulate more easily.:jumping:

I just bought a 2002 Taco DC TRD 4WD to replace my Jeep Rubicon. My intentions with this truck are very mild. It will be my DD and I want to use it as a base camp for fishing and kayaking expeditions. I don't want to add a whole lot of unnecessary weight. I am going to add some basic...
I am looking at a 2002 DC Tacoma TRD with 54k miles. The blue blook value is $15,700. They have the truck listed at 18,200 and I have got them down to 17000. Most trucks listed on Autotrader and Cars.com with 60k + miles are going for above 16 thousand. I have been looking all over the...
I have a few more questions to you people that have hands on expierence with the crossover. CNET stated that it was a little sluggish in initial start up and when giving direction turn by turn directions. It also said it was a slow on route recalculations. Does anyone else have this...
