I enjoyed the show, like you say its getting better, I cant understand why you were put on the other side of the race track! there was plenty of room in the centre and it would make the show a more compact and better display.

    VARIO SPEED LIMITER

My Vario is limited to 52 mph, I don't want to be a speed merchant! but I find it is a little on the slow side. It would be nice if I could do 60 mph when and if I want to. My local Mercedes dealer say they are not allowed to remove it, (instruction from factory) they may be able to increase...

Had a good time at the show, it seemed a little better this year in the organisation! My Vario got a lot of interest! Hardly had time to eat, but managed to get some drinks in OK. First time out for it, so a bit of a test for all systems! Found phone charger socket not working. Drop down bed...

    VARIO AIR CONDITIONING ?

I am considering a similar idea, I have a Dometic HB2500 its an under locker type unit (currently fitted in my caravan) Its not as powerful as in dash vehicle fitted types, so I am looking at options! These Dometic units run best on pure sine inverters, and I have heard quite a few reports of...

Mercedes Vario 814DA - An introduction

That noise could well be the transfer gear box! I get a kind of gear chatter noise on overrun at around 50mph if the throttle is just equal to the speed if I throttle up or down it goes away. I suspect a worn bearing in the transfer box, but not too worried by it.

Mercedes Vario 814DA - An introduction

That looks nice, as you say, not an out and out overlander! but capable enough to get out of trouble, My vario is some where in between the two, like you I like the idea of using the cab space with swivel chairs, it makes for so much more space. Do you know the wheel base? it looks long, and...

Interesting vehicle, any pictures of the inside? Regarding the speedo, just take it to and commercial vehicle tachograph centre, like Nick says it wont take long to sort. my Vario is still limited to 52mph,

    Insurance in Morroco

Hello Neil, If your insurance company wont provide a green card, then its not a problem, you can buy the insurance cover at the border, although sometimes you can get it cheaper further in land. the trouble with that is you have to risk driving without cover! you buy it to cover the days you...

Yes that's a shame! If you can make it I am sure I can find a tinny for you!! The show seems to be getting better and more popular, as its the only one of its kind in the uk.
