Kind of a small update here, rollingout on my big inaugural trip in two weeks with two other adults. It just isn't reasonable in this day and age to expect a person to sit for hours without a way to charge their cell phone or other devices, so I fixed that:
It's powered off the USB switch...
They said they are shipping in order of orders received. I'm pretty sure I was among the first few, saw the post two minutes after it went live and had my order complete within two minutes of that. First thing I heard from Maxtrax was this morning when I got shipping notification.
Agreed. The 2.7 is rock solid. It did get a slight update for '16 going to dual VVT-i with a 4 HP jump, but still pretty much the same engine and no reason to think the reliability will change. Hell, if they offered it with the double cab in a manual I wouldn't have bought the truck I did.
No more, not at either Phoenix store anyway. I was actually planning on picking up a small winch like this for shop use when I redo my layout this summer too. Would have been perfect.
ARB strap on cost alone. They do the same job, I carry the ARB and have been recovered by both. Kinetic rope seems to stretch a little more and may provide a little more tug but it simply isn't enough of a difference to justify the cost in my mind. Then again, this is ExPo and not everyone is as...
This is what that spot looks like BTW (just ignore that compressor in the way):
Since you'll be looking at a 3rd gen, I'd be really interested in a dual battery tray in the stock location. I'm pretty sure it's a tighter fit than the 2nd gen, but I think it'll still work. I'm cool working up...
I can't imagine that CC/MTS would not function after mods. Maybe if you mess with the brakes (big brake kit, aftermarket rear discs, etc) but lift and tires will require just need recalibration of the VSC, but once that's done everything should continue to work as advertised.
And we're done here:
Covered the top with heavy felt in charcoal and got some scrap Formica in black off of a friend for the drawer fronts.
Inaugural run isn't for another month so I'm going to be spending the interim sorting through my gear and deciding what's still good, what needs...
You don't specify, but I'm going to assume you are taking about a brand new truck, especially since the Off-Road package wasn't available as a double cab long bed until just this year. Off-Road over Sport, that one is easy. They cost exactly the same, within the same bed/cab configuration that...
I did design the part. Couldn't come up with an off the shelf solution I liked for more than one additional switch (there's a single blank in the center console) and drilling holes for Autozone toggles really didn't sit well with me at all.
I'm also a little surprised 3D printing isn't more...
Updates:
Designed a little plate for switches to replace the pointless (to me) dash pocket that Toyota put to the left of the steering wheel. 3D printed from Shapeways as my printer is unavailable to me currently. Mounted a Toyota style switch for the compressor and one for a backseat USB...
Bumper looks great, alway looking forward to seeing the progress you make.
Hey, that's me too! I'd be overjoyed to share a beer with you anytime, just I'd like to do it from a table for one in opposite corners of completely different deserted bars located two states away from each other. Cheers!
I really doubt this will be the case, the rubbing anyway. They're pretty narrow and still a sub 32" tire. 2nd and 3rd gen are near identical suspension wise and I don't think I've ever seen reports of rubbing in this size on a 2nd.
