DOT requires a CDL to have a trailer over 10k when passing over state lines. 14k within the state before you must have a class A.
there are really no limitations save for the dimensions of the rig when running "not for hire"

i have one of those jacks from norhern industrial. it worked great for my 85' transam but when i came time for a 72 wagoneer, i thought it was not quite up to the task of lifting it. I would not use one for a full size truck unless i was on a concrete floor with jack stands.
what kind of relays? It may be that the relay is looking like a short to the battery when it is switched on. Do you have a wire diagram of your lighting system?
I would be in for one or 2, This is a great idea. It would be fun to display on our non-expo vehicles too. The ones without all the "sponsor stickers". :coffeedrink:
