The best adventure vehicles I have ever driver were Sedan‘s rented from Enterprise. I have driven them into the Wind River and the Bugaboos. It doesn’t mater what you driver at some point the the road runs out and you have to start Hoofing it. But most of my Adventures are climbing related. ?♂️...
Hub Bearing was going out. Just made in in to Rock Springs. It was close to failing when we got to town. It had 10k on it and had no play when I checked It before we left and was only on the truck for 6 months. 60 miles of wash board did it in. I feel it was just a bad park because I’ve not had...
That statement has some merit.
I like the New Defender a lot especially the 90 and I like the Wrangler. The Wrangler and Defender share the same DNA and were both originally tools. While Both have evolved to have better manners the Jeep has stayed truer to the core. That is not a bad thing...
If Scott Brady would have the 4-cylnder I think it will be good enough for me and most other people. But if I had the money for a new one I would be looking to get as striped down of one as Land Rover will let us buy in the US.
There is some truth to that statement. I lost a hub on my LR3 in the Irish Canyon on the way Jackson one time and it took 4 days in Rock Springs to get it fixed. I should have has an extra hub with us but the the one that broke was less than a year old Timken Part. This is a consideration...
So at the End this all goes to the treatment of the front clip. Because the ****** end looks pretty spot on as a modern take on the old. If the windscreen was more up and done and the bonnet was not quite so round there would be less belly aching. BUTTTTT its not.
Why don't you guys worry about the vehicles you have and not the ones you do not, this thread is tired let it die. Jeep and Land Rover and hell Toyota all make great 4x4 each with its own place. They will all do the job just fine as cars and 4x4's. Find the one you like and drive it. Outside...
@Victory_Overland #truth
Right now I'm just tired of reading all the back and forth on the stupid new Defender. Much nicer on the Jeep forum reading about builds and travel. Victory and @Ray_G are the only folks talking about building and using there truck anymore, seams like every other...
@Beowulf yeah I think of Johnny Joints as Heims. Really I just want to stay away from any Flex joint and stick with Rubber at both ends of the control arms. I want to keep the service intervals of down and I don't need max flex anyway.
I'm hoping to sell my LR3 after we get out of quarantine and Pick of a LJ. I'm not planing to get big tires on this truck as it will not be needed for want I want to do. I want to keep it light with mostly stock kit and a Winch. However I have had TJ's before and I would like to get new solid...
LOL @krick3tt I can FIX it, I have Rebuilt a couple of Rover 4.0's in my time. I'm just not going to pay to buy a new part for it when I can just twist the wire off (common fix). The Hood Latch alarm is a stupid anyway. I would rather use that $30 to go to the $300 on the Trans service kit...
Well yes this I know, I just think it funny every time I think seriously about selling the money pit it will get a new problem. I will be cutting off the wires on the hood latches and closing the system like I did to my wife's LR3.
So this morning I was out in the front yard watering some new Plants we have put in while in quarantine. I was minding my on business and thinking about selling my LR3 and picking up an 06 Wrangler Unlimited that I have been looking at in the neighborhood. We I guess the Disco can read my mind...
So true I got a 08 LR3 HSE with 86,000 mile fully dealer Serviced since new and Had all the Maintenance records put into my hand when I picked it up. If I had not bought a warranty when I go the truck i would have had to shell out 8k in the first 6 months, most caused by a one year one belt...
