So, just to clarify.....
These heaters “work” at high altitudes without modifications, but they will run rich and coke up the burn chambers. They will eventually have issues as that layer builds up. So they will “work” for a while, but then you have to eventually take it all apart and clean it...
I found this years ago.... it suggests the fuel reduction per altitude change. Maybe this helps?
maybe possible to use a small micro controller to adjust pulses with altitude.
The tracks would keep the bed from swinging around.
A friend of mine once told me that they rented a house with a large covered patio. On that patio, there were a bunch of beds suspended by four chains.
He said that unlike a hammock that is soothing to nap in, a bed that swings only in one...
I need to be able to lift my camper box off the truck for service and modification. The only camper jacks I could find with enough capacity are landing gear jacks.
Can two sets be used safely to lift the box off?
That is not their intended use, but I don’t see a problem unless there is a...
Right now I am thinking of putting three tracks in the walls. Then either cross drilling them or putting some sort of clamp or stop on the tracks. Lowering the bed by ropes so that when all ropes are slack, I am solidly resting on the stops.
The attachments to the track sliders will need some...
All,
In my camper design, I have planned an elevator bed over the dinette. It would be awesome if that bed could be leveled when the vehicle is not on level ground.
Has anyone seen one COTS available or DIY that can be leveled?
Thanks

Wow.... I like your design. I would have had my dinette in the front too, but I am making that big crawl through..... did not want to hunch-walk to the camper only to crawl over the dinette.
Will hit you up next week. We have much to discuss.
This week..... collecting potable water and...
All,
I have a question regarding the rail on rail design.
What is the primary purpose of having the springs distributed down the length of the frame instead of just at the free end?
While looking at the stiffness of the sub frame vs the springs, obviously the springs are much weaker than...
At that price, I plan to build my own. If I did not have the skills, I would buy the airhead. The Natures Head looks like a pain to disassemble and empty.
You can buy the “urine separators” all day long on eBay. I plan to add a stirring mechanism, but that is to be designed.
The rest is a...
Yes, the tanks will all be inside. Either under the bunk beds or under the dinette floor.
I have posted the floor plan but did not mention the two locations. Thanks for the prompt.

I am building a big rig on an M1083. The truck currently weighs 26,000lb empty, but will weigh more once I add everything.
The box will be mounted by a rail on rail subframe.
I am planning three 50 gallon tanks. I have two locations for water that I can use.
One is on the passenger side...
Thanks, that is closer. It does not have the lift travel I need and the longer travel units do not have much force. That is probably the closest option to those videos I have seen yet.
Thank you!

I appreciate all of the feedback.
I was looking at firgeli 50cal actuators with the synchronizing controller, but I still have an issue with them.
If one every fails, I am stuck. There is no manual backup system. I did find several examples in Germany on YouTube that had hydraulic units with...
I am planning a lifting roof camper. I have seen other campers with lifting roofs that uses 4 tiny hydraulic cylinders and have a hand crank option to back up a failed motor.
I have been unable to find these systems fir sale. Anyone have any ideas on where to buy them? I contemplated building...
