I can't argue with the Toytec BOSS or Bilstein 6112 as front end options. Old Man Emu is great but I considered it overkill for my 90% daily driver needs. I wanted something more OEM-Plus if that makes sense, and that ExPo article on the Bilstein 6112 suspension for 4Runners really caught my...
The industry standard E-Load '10-ply' descriptor does not refer to sidewall construction. Most C/D/E-Load tires will only have two-ply or three-ply sidewall.
Yeah, firewood will eat those trash bags. I don't use my Trasharoo for firewood, just pile it on my hitch carrier. I can generally find plenty to burn laying around here in South Texas but we're also likely to be under a burn ban on any random weekend anyway, lol.
Yep, I know what you mean. I use mine with the mount straps crossed in a X-pattern behind my FJC's spare. Works great, but you have to start with the straps full extended and it can be a pain to get it on securely. If you don't have a tire cover be prepared to have tire marks on your forearms...
First thing I thought of were those same Cargo Craft trailers. Obviously just more 'dirt-road' capable than 'trail-ready', and not exactly cheap for what still amounts to a big empty box with little or no frills. But they are mostly finished inside with insulation and aluminum skin, have 32in...
Quick question... Are the trailer's roofs bare aluminum sheet or white?
I'm not sure I've seen a clear picture from well above one of the trailers and was curious how UV-reflective they are.
EDIT: Just saw the image of the MaxxAir fan on what looks like a clear-finish aluminum roof in the...
1. Where will you be dragging it? I figure there's no other reason to taper under the rear than more rugged terrain. If your average destination requires it, then go for it.
2. You really have TVan-sized chubby, don't you?
My thought as well. Really no different reaching up as opposed to reaching out to close a similar-width side-opening door. How would I reach this door to close it?..
I'd either have to grab the door as I went in or I would need some kind of tether to pull. I guess I could wait for the wind to...
The Winnie Drop looks like an R-Pod clone, but that smallest Forest River Geo Pro shows some good thinking.
Obviously the concern of most people here on ExPo would be the construction under the skin, but at least they showed some interest in breaking out of their standard 'North American RV...
:iagree: While I would truthfully prefer living with the added utility and cargo capacity of the recent spate of 'tearbox' trailers, the Inka Venture is probably my personal favorite of the actual teardrop style.
Those doors just make so much sense to me in size and operation.

There's LOTS of stuff online from users of both.

The TVan is pretty darn slick and I've always had a soft spot for the Conqueror UEV360 (Supra II in South Africa). But I also see the obvious appeal of a completely hard-sided sleep-in box like these IntechRV models and the Hiker/Lead Dog 'tearbox' trailers. No canvas to tear or wear over time...
I would think weight would be just as big a factor, unless the trailer's front is wider/taller than the rear of the tow vehicle.
When I towed a friend's M101A3 (on the military 37in run-flats) we did need to take down the canvas top to prevent it feeling like I was towing a parachute. But after...
If nothing else the Fantastic Vent will still pull air when there isn't sufficient wind/breeze outside to provide adequate airflow just by having the windows open. I'd get one with the thermostat control.
As for how much air they move the only thing I know for sure is their claim of 920cfm on...
Reminds me of what happened with my friend who had his 80 rear-ended on the street and the 80 rear-ended his Mustang that was parked in front of it.
The Mustang looked much worse off, but the relative value of the vehicles meant the Mustang got repaired while the 80 (with much less visible...
Not to get OT, but I could swear I've seen pictures someone fitted canvas canvas on the popup lid of a Haulmark Flex for a similar idea. That would make the interior of the largest Flex model 4'10"Wx8'2"L with ~5ft 10in headroom at the rear.
Of course that's probably $4k-$5k new and you'd still...
