Then the post man arrived with my amber beacons for the rear window
And my CB radio :D which I am ment to get for my birthday but pretty much had it installed by the time charlotte got home so I got it now instead...

We have light! !
24 crimps later and all the grounds for all the switches are in and all the feeds for the side light illumination are installed
Day Three (I had the weekend off... haha)
On the weekend I went up to my mates to get the holes drilled in the fire wall turns out that's where the clutch goes through so lucky enough there was ment to be a hole there... but to get the drill in there we had to take the pipe off the intercooler...
Just had enough time to dismantle the center console and plan the route for the conduit to go through
I am going to have to clean it all out... its filthy. ..
Then out came the hole saw :/
Then I ran out of time it started to get dark :/
Day Two
Hit a tiny snag... whent to drill the 25mm hole in the fire wall to run some conduit through and realised the drill didn't fit in the space.. I am going to need a hand from my mate but that will have to wait until tommrow...
Anyway I carried on with other bits and bobs
Riveted the...
Done for the day!
CTEK all wired up and best of all it seams to be working!
Tested it with a voltmeter and it was really interesting watching the unit constantly adjusting the voltage to meet the needs of the battery... The hilux starter battery kept at a steady 14v while the CTEK started at...
Well its begun... 10 days of wiring ahead of me...
Day One has started with a morning at work making some brackets to hold relays in a nice fashion...
the rest of the day is going to be spent getting the CTEK wired in and working so the battery will be getting a bit of charge before I...
Good luck attempting to cram yourself in the back to sleep... I removed the rear seats on mine and it still only made the rear space about the same as a normal family car boot
A quick picture of the tray before painting...
The welds arnt amazing due to the amount of galvanising on the bloody thing! I recon they must of dipped it about 10 times!
Finished making the battery tray today, will be painting it in the next couple of days and then installing it along with the batter and the CTEK unit on the weekend :)
This is my first web series following my recent Overland Preparation Project

I will be releasing the first episode in the new year
I am new to this so I welcome all kind of criticism (well to a...
Possibly... It wouldn't be hard to implement a relay...
Just use a normally closed relay and take the same switch feed that activates the solinoid to make the relay open thus braking the feed to the CTEK
Yes the solinoid is is to self jump
I haven't decided yet where or not to run a relay to disconnect the CTEK unit when the batteries batteries are joined mainly just for peace of of mind
Would be simple to to do I guess just run the same switch wire from the solinoid to a relay on the supply...
I have been stock piling a selection of electrical goodies recently so I can complete all the wiring in one go rather then adding buts and bobs and creating a mess haha
What I currently have sat waiting to go in...
Varta AGM dual purpose battery
CTEK 250S DC to DC charger
Custom Switch Panel...
