Finished making the battery tray today, will be painting it in the next couple of days and then installing it along with the batter and the CTEK unit on the weekend
Well its begun... 10 days of wiring ahead of me...
Day One has started with a morning at work making some brackets to hold relays in a nice fashion...
the rest of the day is going to be spent getting the CTEK wired in and working so the battery will be getting a bit of charge before I attempt to draw power from it
CTEK all wired up and best of all it seams to be working!
Tested it with a voltmeter and it was really interesting watching the unit constantly adjusting the voltage to meet the needs of the battery... The hilux starter battery kept at a steady 14v while the CTEK started at 14.9 and then slowly reduced the voltage to 13.7v as the battery started to take the charge
I also mounted the brackets I made... One for the interior relays and one for the external relays
Anyway enough wittering on I guess you want to see some pictures!
Hit a tiny snag... whent to drill the 25mm hole in the fire wall to run some conduit through and realised the drill didn't fit in the space.. I am going to need a hand from my mate but that will have to wait until tommrow...
Anyway I carried on with other bits and bobs
Riveted the relay brackets to my fabricated bracket
Then I started tidying up the wiring for the reversing lights that I throw in at the time
I also found a pretty neat use for my camera equipment... A coiled cable holder! Haha
I also added abit of conduit to any pinch or heat points to protect the wiring
I am starting to run out of things to do until I drill the hole through the conduit...
On the weekend I went up to my mates to get the holes drilled in the fire wall turns out that's where the clutch goes through so lucky enough there was ment to be a hole there... but to get the drill in there we had to take the pipe off the intercooler but it worked
Then today I painted the hole and connected the water proof connector and routed the conduit
I also got the center console out and installed the fuse board and earth bus bar and fed the wires through
By the end of the day I am planning on routing the thick red wire through and attaching it to the aux battery via a 80 AMP fuse and run a side light fees into the cab to light up the switches when the lights are turned on
I am also waiting for a few parcels which I will hopefully have installed this week
