So after seeing the turbo and then hearing in another thread that mitsu used a small turbo to increase back pressure for the egr I feel that I need to plan a turbo upgrade down the road.
Any one upgrade a turbo on a 4m50?
Any one have a idea of a good candidate?
Recently had a brake down in the mighty fuso..got a code for injector #4 but I had just recently installed low km, cleaned and tested injectors so I was puzzled.
I pulled apart the injector Harness to see if there was a wiring problem and every single injector wire had the insulation cracked...
Ok fins get straightened first but might need a new rad I had a closer inspection and it's pretty epic. Looks like some one tried to pressure wash the rad and did quite the number
Ok interesting stuff here I was at about 90 - 100kph in the hills maybe too fast but traffic is usually 120 so I don't want to really be that guy.
Mine is a 6 speed auto so as far as revs I can't lug it really but I could manually downshift so it revs a bit more.
Recently had to go pick up a car about five hours away . Just the unloaded Fuso pulling a empty car trailer seem to be overheating on long gradual declin climbs.
ended up spending the day running the heater to help cool the engine.
any known cooling problems with this vehicle?
or is this...
It's actually a work truck with a deck on it so pretty aero. I have had some cars where a little faster actually is better mpg cause you are more in the engines sweet spot.
But this is my first larger diesel and it seems wrong to be revving at 2400 @110kph but I seemed to get great fuel economy.
Hey guys.
Just wondering what is the preferred RPM to maximize fuel mileage on the 4M50 ?
My truck is a 2wd 6 speed auto so little different then the fg but I am sure this engine has a sweet spot.
It is nice to see their pretty capable I live in Alberta Canada. Where you seem to need an massive Dodge diesel to tell anything. even small items I guess that's just the redneck way
