Rears would have had to come from US, 12 weeks delivery! Quicker and cheaper off internet of course.
Unfortunately I couldn't reconcile the measurements from...
I retired about 55 and am now about 62. Live in Aus, currently in UK after taking 7 months to drive the Canter here. We don't know how long it will be before we return to Aus. Our constraints are bureaucratic (visas etc.). Average around 150 km/day but would like it to be much slower. Since we...
it can't be any different to any of the other drum brakes I've adjusted over the years. But just in case ..... any hints on drum brake adjustment on Canter FG649E from someone who's done it?
I have a 2005 FG648E. Driven 30,000km from Malaysia, China, Mongolia, to UK. Standard suspension. Only a couple of bottom leaves on one front spring broken - repair in Hungary! Front shock absorbers weak, one rear shock absorber leaking oil. Time for new ones.
I can't find the thread here where...
I suspect a few tests may be useful - finding loose soil may not be that easy, macerated just means its finer, and waiting for liquid to soak into the ground may take a while. It would have to be a very long hose for most public loos, and they may not be the sort of loo one would wish to spend...
just a thought John. With the use of black water tanks has much thought been given to the practicalities of emptying them in countries where sewage facilities are at a premium? I'm not averse to digging a hole for my 14 litre cassette (actually 2 cassettes) but getting it big and deep enough for...
air flow today in 34 degree C ambient temperature much improved, as is cab noticeably more comfortable. The filter wasn't blocked, just a tad dusty. Aircon still isn't world's best but every little helps.
thanks Kerry, all clean now, a bit dusty. Insulating the coolant pipes makes sense to me, at least it had a significant effect on the efficiency of my fridge.
got the duct tape and the wire (last used to hold a fuel tank on when straps snapped on last trip), and a few other varieties of tape ... Feeling silly about the epoxy. Must have left in a hurry!
Good news. Transparent pipe from tank to changeover switch stayed full overnight and did 270km...
so far so good. I now have a transparent pipe from tank to changeover switch - and its full of diesel, and not running back into the tank when the engine is stopped. I'll be more confident after the next 30km drive. Probably tomorrow. Hopefully I now have a known working condition.
Interesting...
a couple of days ago I checked that the translation of "diesel" was understood Tony. As long as we can find diesel, water, somewhere to stop, and somewhere to empty the loo cassette, the rest will all work out. ATMs seem to find themselves. I'm also hopeful that "turn left here" will be uttered...
found some new flexible pipe in the last major town.
Yet to confirm by driving tomorrow but looks like the problem is a small crack in the bowl of the water separator. It was almost dark before shining a torch on it showed a stream of small bubbles from halfway up the bowl. The stream of...
thanks for that oilburner. You are not alone, I think the system is very sensitive to small leaks.
I have two tanks with a Pollak 6 port changeover switch. One tank has fuel lift problem, other tank ok. I'm steadily working my way through all connections between the tank and the switch...
