Built a fridge slide this weekend so I don't have to climb into the back to get that last beer any more! :D
Salvaged a set of server slides from work and grabbed some aluminium angle. Everything went together easily. Only change I'm going to make is for the tie down's I've ordered a set of...
I've been super impressed with the Armada. I've had it out on a trail every weekend but one since I bought it and I always take it on the hardest line that its approach angle will permit so that I can play with the 4-low and traction control, and I've never once had to back down and try another...
Often time kits like this get shipped with everything lose so that the end user can make final adjustments before install. Before you installed them did you check to see if the nut was properly tightened and that the jamb nut was also locked into place?
I had a '95 with a factory LSD and a 2" OME lift on it for awhile. It was a nice driving vehicle, but I felt that the axles where a little weak and the LSD was a bit lacking. That VG30E was a fantastic engine though!
Lets face it, the 3rd row seats in the back of the Y62 are annoying. I get it, some people need to haul 7 people. But why couldn't Nissan have designed them to be able to fold FLAT for gods sake!
As with everything on these vehicles, there are plenty of really slick false floor kits in...
I wanted to convert the 12-volt outlet in the rear of my Armada to provide power whether the key was on or not. Since I am going to be building a platform in the rear to replace the 3rd row seats, I figured I'd just tap into the power for them instead of running new wires all the way back from...
After watching this video:
I wonder if a Predator rear bar will fit with pretty minor modifications? It seems that the Armada just has the Nissan tow package that is bolted to this Patrol; only permanently welded on. I haven't taken my rear bumper off yet, but from just poking around that...
Along with a lift, in my opinion the most important modification you can make to any vehicle is adding undercarriage protection in the form of skid plates and rock sliders. So lets discuss options.
leeleatherwood has pointed out that 1st Generation Toyota Tacoma Double Cab rock sliders will...
Yes, they are designed different to allow them to clear the coil buckets so that you have more drop in your suspension. Also, presumably they have upgraded ball joints and are possibly stronger.
For a ~2" lift, I don't think it would really be necessary. As leeleatherwood said, having a different UCA that cleared the coil bucket would allow further droop of your suspension. So I guess the question then becomes, what are you planning on using your vehicle for? If you're planning on doing...
Agreed, they look the same, but there has got to be something different. I'm combing through FAST and AllData to see what it is, but so far all I can see is part number differences. Nothing is a smoking gun as yet.
I got a copy of Nissan FAST (their digital parts catalog) a few days ago and have found that there is a model variation. In their system early build date 2nd Gen Armada's (06/16 - 10/17) are listed as Y62. From 10/17+ they are listed as Y62J. Part numbers for things like UCA's are slightly...
Great info! What airbags are you running on the back again? And do you have, or are you planning on having a rear bumper w/tire carrier? Drawers? Just wondering if the Moog spring will handle the added weight.
I spoke with Dobinson's US operation this morning. After consulting with OZ, they claim that their Patrol kit's available in Australia will work with the Armada. BUT, they've never done it so they cannot vouch for it. So this is the same as the OME stuff. I've never used Dobinson's, but I hear...
Troopers are fantastic. And I did rebuild the engine in mine two years ago, it cost me about $3,000 bucks. I did it because I loved the platform, and because I really wanted to. Looking back, it was a fun, interesting project; but I'm not sure I'd do it again.
Ok, but my understanding is that the Y62 Patrol in Australia and the UAE have different front lower control arms that the Y62 Armada/QX platform found in North America. Do you know if this is/is not the case?
