How about Camplite? A friend has one and its very nice.. all aluminum construction.. very well made, lots of floorplan options.

1: Skids and sliders - you know you will wheel it before the rest is complete.. might as well preserve it.
2: CB/2M radio - Assuming you never wheel alone so communicate with your group, plus its cheap
3: Recovery gear - eventually you'll need a winch... but in the meantime buy a HiLift and some...
Great pics James! BBNP is next on the list.
We had a fantastic time in BBRSP, Guale 2 is a must see place. The views are incredible.
Its a good 45 minutes to an hour from the ranger station in the middle of the park. We did some of the "tougher" roads but nothing really that difficult...
I had the privilege of seeing the rig this past weekend. Install is slick! Looks completely factory, very impressed! I was even more impressed when he told me he did it in a 1 car apartment garage using his wifes muscle! :). That's dedication and a good wife.
I'm running a 12VoltGuy Ultra Dual battery/ incab winch controller in my 07 Taco. Mounted the control panel in the change holder, just created a little panel to hold it.
Its controlling a pair of Platinum's, one in the OE location and one in a NRA approved box inside the bed mounted tool-box...
I replaced my factory jack with a 6 ton bottle jack. The one I have fits in the same spot as the factory jack under the rear seat in my DC Tacoma. I know thats not vertically, but if I didn't have the speakers/amps behind the rear seat I'm confident that it would stand back there without issue.
Unless you are geared, locked and like the rocks, I would just suggest a standard replacement CV axle as a spare. For the standard Expo style trip that should be plenty.
As far as I know, RCV is the only ones, so far, making upgraded 2nd Gen Taco CV's and they are not cheap. :Wow1:
Very true, you need to look at what you are doing and where you are going and determine what you 'think' you'll need. I saw some baja rigs carry a spare LCA on them, but I don't think I'll need one. I bet I just jinx'd myself.
At the time it broke I had full OME setup, so about 2.75" of lift running 285 KM2's. Not locked at the time, but I did have 4.56's installed. Since then I've swapped over to Fox remote resi CO's along with an ARB locker up front and a set of RCV Ultimate Yota axles. Hopefully no more...
I've broken a CV axle on the trail in my 2nd gen so I would recommend a spare. Snapped it clean in half at the hub side, luckily nothing was sticking out to flop around while driving. You can get an aftermarket unit for under $75 with a lifetime warranty from your local auto parts store. Even...
LOL.. hang on Scott. I have a couple.. but they are grouped with the others that I took that are not that great. My picture taking ability while driving still needs work. :sombrero:
Wow.. I take crummy pics. I won’t bother you with most of them.
Loaded up and ready to go
Anyone need anything from the Mercantile before we go?
Not a place to be messing around trying to take pictures and drive.
I wonder if he has his rock and roll merit badge?
Unintentional Detour...
