I have seen a non-HD LR3 (without ARB locker) break rear drive shaft on local trails. So it can happen. The HD-LR3s turn the locker on/off frequently and no predicting if it happens while a wheel is spinning. That might be the need for beefier shafts. I always turn on my ARB locker...
I have an LR3 with ARB rear Locker. I agree with all said above about priorities, even though Im lacking the winch. I have been ridding with HD-LR3's and the way it walked less strenuously over obstacles convinced me to add a rear locker. It works exactly as I hoped. The HD conversion and ARB...

SO, whats the latest with these strut spacers? Im coming up on prevent maintenance interval to replace my air struts and thought it might be a good time to incorporate an 'upgrade'.
What size tires are people running with these?
I have adjustable rods and IIDT - Does anyone think I might...
Id be up for a set. Would be more economical to ship a pallet full of them.
The price might be double, but still worth checking to see if the US LR dealers can source these. Anyone know the part number for the 17" wheel?
2007 LR3 V6 - curb weight 5,787 lbs
2007 Lr3 V8 - curb weight 5,796 lbs
If I was still into towing a boat or camper, I would stay with V8 breaks but its NOT a safety issue.
I have been collecting the part numbers and estimates to move to 17" wheels. Basically requires v6 brakes front AND rear:
- Front carriers Part: SEH500012 for about $120
- Rear Carrier part number: SXP500013 $70
- LR3 V6 Disc and rebuild kit: $180
Next time my brakes are worn out Ill rebuild...
2nd the duratracs 275/65/18 LT recommendation. On my 2nd set. Probably will get a 3rd. A 50% worn one will fit under the truck. LR3 runs standard height (no lift) most days no rubbing. Good at everything, but staying quiet. 1st half of the tread wear is good, but the 2nd half growls. These...
I wouldnt recommend skipping the straps. With out straps, a wheel can drop below the operating range of your CV joint. The damage would be a VERY BAD day on the trail.
