Steve - for items #1 and #2 you suggest "manually pumping"? How do you manually pump them? Is there something in the IID tool that, when in build mode, allows you to initiate an inflation of one of the corners even when there is a hard fault?
Update:
never mind I get it now. Though I am...
CF and White gas are the same thing. you can burn CF inside (again always lighting outside), but CF will give off more fumes (smellier) than Kero once burning properly....kero doesn't really smell if its burning properly. with either you want to make sure you're not in an air tight room or...
Just in the burner bowl. I tilt it up on one side so the alcohol will accumulate right under the gen and then when the gen is nice and hot I put the stove flat and light
I can answer #3 and #4.
#3 - Kerosene stoves will require a pre-heat to get the stove's generator or fuel tubing hot enough to vaporize the kerosene. If its not preheated enough and you attempt to light you WILL get stinky black smoke and soot. Once lit however, Kero burns very clean. I...
Here is a link to the kero gen: https://www.oldcolemanparts.com/product.php?productid=857&cat=&page=1 . Note this will only fit the 550 stove, not your 508. The only coleman single burner-on-tank that can run kero is the 550. No others. They did make a 445 that can run kero as well like the...
Given where you're headed and the lack of White gas/coleman fuel, unleaded, and propane, your best option may be to go with a Kerosene stove since Kero is available just about anywhere. The only true two burner kero stove I'm aware of is the Optimus 22 (not the 22b, it is a WG fuel only stove)...
Coleman 413 and 414 (as well as the smaller 425 and 424s) stoves fit in the campmates. These are all white gas/coleman fuel stoves that aren't impacted by altitude since you pressures the tanks yourself with the built in pump.
your best bet for fuel consumption savings is to go with a Coleman liquid (white gas/coleman fuel) stove. Like has been mentioned above, you can pick one up on Craigslist for ultra cheap....less than $50 for one in great shape. They come in three sizes and have been made since the 40s...
I don't think the dual fuel stove will produce enough BTUs for what the zodi stove top calls for...from the Zodi website: "This item is designed for high output single burner stoves similiar to the 35,000 BTU Camp Chef systems used by outfitters and base camps." I don't know of any coleman...
