I to would suggest skipping the safari park. We were pretty disappointed. We do like the zoo though. I would also recommend Lego land. It's the perfect park for kids your ages.

I picked one of the growlers up at Frys grocery store for less than half the price of Cabela's. Haven't used it yet but hope to get a lot of use out of it this summer. :friday:

Another vote for Filson. I have a Filson belt that I've worn for years. I didn't treat it when I got it or for a few years after so it's looking a little cracked but it's still working fine. In fact I think I have three Filson belts but one is probably all you'll ever need. :)

I got the Tamron 150-600 to take to Africa. I was happy with the decision. Some of my shots were soft but a lot of that was probably shooting resting the lens on a beanbag draped over a half rolled down window.
Here are a couple bird shots.

Did those ladies in the first photo get Shanghaied from their kitchens? Pretty funny to see them working on an assembly line in dresses and what appears to be kitchen aprons.

Once I had two hand held CBs and tried to use them on a trip. The vehicles seemed to act like a Faraday cage and it was almost impossible to receive. I don't know if the FRS radios work any better, but I'd try them out before I actually needed them.

I have a set of Wal Mart enamelware and the first time we used it, it got chips in the enamel on most of the pieces. I don't know if the GSI has a thicker coating or not.

I stopped in at Goodwill today and found a 20L Sceptre water jug for $3.99. The only bad thing is that it's black. In AZ I would have liked a lighter color, but beggars can't be choosers. :)

A Coleman Extreme would be less money but take up about the space of a fridge. A Yeti would be about the same in cost and size.
After Labor Day start looking on craigslist. Earlier in the summer I saw a few 30 and 80qt (I think people thought they were too small and too large) fridges for...
Living in AZ I don't have much of a need for rubber boats, but I do have a pair of Wal Mart farm boots that I picked up at a thrift store. They are comfortable, keep my feet dry and have good traction.

When I was testing out the Yeti and Dometic in Tucson before the trip, the fridge would use 20 percent of the battery overnight in my garage. Charging with my 100W panels most of the day would keep the fridge going and the Yeti charged. This was just testing the system not opening or closing...
I took my Yeti 400 and Dometic CF-050 camping last weekend. We were gone for 3 nights. Where we camped it was cool, dropping into the 70s at night. I used 100 watt solar panels for a few hours two of the days we were there but I think the Yeti would have had enough juice to keep the fridge...
