Choosing the right Fridge, how does one know which to choose?

One thing to think about is whether you want the top to open from the side or the edge. If it opens the long way, you need more space above the fridge to get into it. If it opens like a cooler then you have easier access. Chad

Choosing the right Fridge, how does one know which to choose?

I think the Indel-B is made by Waeco which is now owned by Dometic. The features look the same between the two except that the Indel has the hinge on the edge and the Dometic opens from the side. The Truckfridge is an Indel-B sold under a different name. I went with the 50 quart because the...

Choosing the right Fridge, how does one know which to choose?

I bought a Dometic CF-50 for $579 delivered. So far it's a great fridge. No drain plug though. Chad

Wanted: Roof Rack to Mount to Camper Shell

I am looking for a roof rack to put on my topper so I can carry my kayak. There are already holes drilled in the roof of the topper for bolts. I am in Tucson and am looking for something local. Thanks, Chad

    Goal Zero Yeti 400 Experiences?

The cable length was 20 feet. I didn't look to see if the controller said the battery was full, I'll try that next time. This morning when I plugged it in to the 110 outlet the 60% was flashing so the drain was somewhere between 60% and 40% I guess. When I came back later it was showing 100%...

    Goal Zero Yeti 400 Experiences?

I built cables to run from my Renogy 100W Suitcase to my Yeti 400 using Anderson Connectors and 12G wire. I had my Yeti plugged into my Dometic CF-50 portable fridge overnight and it used 40% of the battery in the Yeti. In the morning yesterday I hooked the cables up to solar panel...

    Overwhelmed... :(

I feel the same way Chad. Just don't read the Urban Dictionary post on the name. It's nothing but lies. Chad (too)

    Overwhelmed... :(

If you want a blender go for something like the TailGator gas powered blender. It gets 6,500 MPG (Margaritas Per Gallon). Chad

    Overwhelmed... :(

Or you can get the Renogy 100W suitcase. It comes with the panels, charge controller, connections to hook to battery and a handy case to store it all in. I got mine on eBay shipped from Renogy for a few bucks less than list price. Chad

How I calibrated my ARB Fridge

I just wanted to post that this works for Dometic fridges as well. Chad

    Goal Zero Yeti 400 Experiences?

I picked up the Renogy 100W suitcase and was wondering how long the cables can be going from the controller to the Anderson plugs on the side of the Yeti? I have 12 gauge wire going from the controller to the Yeti. Looking at a voltage drop calculator, it seems that I'd only lose a 1/4 of a...

Coleman pump cup stuck inside lantern

I replaced the pump on my Coleman lantern and didn't put the push on nut on tight enough. I pumped a few times and the pump came apart. The rod came out but the washer and godet are stuck in the bottom of the cylinder. What is the best way to get it out of there? Chad

    Fridge size?

Why not look into the Dometic. It's built by Waeco, has a Danfoss compressor, was highly rated in the Overland Journal and is about $300 cheaper. I also think I read that the ARB is made by Waeco as well, but I could be wrong about that, it's been known to happen. Chad

    Fridge size?

I think a 50 is probably the size to get. It fits in the trunk of my sedan and I'm able to get the lid at least partially open. Also, on craigslist I have seen 35 and 80s for sale but no 50s. In my mind that suggests that people find the 35 too small and the 80 too large. Chad

    Fridge size?

I would have liked to have gotten a National Luna, but I just can't understand why they are so expensive in America. When I was in Namibia earlier this summer I could have bought one a sporting goods store for half the price they cost in the U.S. If I would have had more time I would have had...

Yeti Cooler Review -- Bear Tested

I guess I miss read. I thought the OP said that the Yeti was bear proof and the locks were only for securing the cooler. Chad

    Fridge size?

I got the Dometic 50. It was a combination of price and features. I think that the new ARB is made by the same company but it's hundreds less and the top opens on the side rather than the end. I got the 50 because it was only a few inches taller than the 35 and I figured I should err on the...

    Fridge size?

You don't need ice with a fridge so a 50Q fridge might have as much space as your old 50Q cooler and beer cooler. Chad

Yeti Cooler Review -- Bear Tested

The point of the link was to show that the Yeti isn't bear proof with out padlocks. I could have linked to the Yeti page that says the same thing. http://yeticoolers.com/bear-resistant-lock/ Chad
