Sweet - just placed an order!
While on this year's Ultimate Adventure our plug somehow got bumped into prior to us going to sleep and broke contact........of coarse I didn't notice that the green light was out on the plug and the next morning we woke up to a 65 degree fridge and some less...
The park is awesome, as are the people who help run it! The Python trail is one of my favorites, it's a tight, twisty trail that I could ride on all day long.
We've been on the trails with that XJ.......
We will definitely make our way back to this park, it has the potential to be a premier...
You may want to contact Hutchinson and ask them if they've test fitted the tires since they are so new. We had several sets of the Spiderlocks with the GY's on the UA and they didn't appear to have any issues with that combo.
Trailready sent me some aluminum spacers to fill in the gap so that the lock ring would seat metal-to-metal again, but I'm most likely going to step up to a 38" at least anyways. I think that on a non-beadlock wheel the thicker bead profile would help keep the tire on the wheel.
The bead is thicker than most. They are about as quiet as the original MT/R's, not as quiet as the KM2's or Toyo's. I think they perform similar to the original MT/R's, but there were some guys that really thought they did well off-road.
They did pretty good, but due to the profile of the tire bead, don't work too good with Trailready beadlocks. I watched them on some other brands of beadlocks and they seemed to be alright. The shape of the bead doesn't let the Trailready locking rings seat fully and causes the bolts to shear...
Good times! Did I mention how much I hated mud :)?!!!! I spent the entire day Monday cleaning mud out of my radiator and interior, good thing I had the floor sprayed with Line-X. The passenger side is no longer the "pretty" side......lot's of sheet metal modifications.
Here is a link for day-to-day updates of the Peterson's Ultimate Adventure...........for those of you interested in a play-by-play of the Tundra flying apart :D! They will update daily from the trails, just look on the lower right hand side of their page under the "Related Blogs" heading for...
Got the Goodyear's mounted up over the weekend. The sidewalls are definitely stiffer than the KM2's, but they ride good on the road and are as quite. The Goodyear's are a heavier tire for sure, and for some reason they are taller, even though the 37's are listed as 36.8" from each...
Well.....looks like I'm going to be trying out the new Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar tires during this year's UA. Sure hope they do as well in the rocks & mud (and on the road) as the reviews I've read say they do! This will definitely be an un-biased review since I love my current BFG KM2's and...
Thanks! I doubt I'm going much past where I stopped it for now. I just wanted to get the intake up a little higher to give me a chance to survive this year's UA. If ARB (or the like) ever comes out with a 1st gen Tundra snorkel I may consider it, but I would rather just steer away from...
Yeah, I would love to! I've been lurking around the trailer threads, will most likely find a 1/2-ton military trailer and outfit it to my liking. Projects are just moving slowly right now while I'm in the process of paying off some debt from my house construction and saving for the UA trip.
Got the elbow mounted to the air box and turned up to the proper angle, then attached the PVC pipe and used a nylon tie to secure it -
The intake is now up higher than any water level I will ever attempt to cross through -
For reference, at 52" my entire engine would be submerged and...
