    2000 XJ BUILD QUESTIONS

We have 31"x10.5" KM2s (actual height 30") on Jeep Ravine wheels with a 2" budget boost on my daughter's '97 XJ 2-door. Great look...no rubbing experienced. We're using JK Rubicon shocks, BTW.

My 2004 Jeep Wrangler LJ With a 4BT Cummins and Some Stuff Build

LOL. It is Pirate. The "hardcore" bar is set fairly high there. Thanks for the compliment. I loved the build myself, but perhaps I'm a little biased. :)

    Comanche Expedition bed cage help

Interesting idea with the hanging spare, but you've essentially blocked all rear visibility with it. Are you OK with that? I'll second the compliment on the nice modeling, though.

My 2004 Jeep Wrangler LJ With a 4BT Cummins and Some Stuff Build

I do on Pirate4x4.com in the non-hardcore forum (build thread HERE). Some of the picture links got broken in the build thread at some point. See if this photo album link works for you. Here are some of the completed pics.

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

(Ignore the old cab photo; it's the only side-profile FC170 cab pic I had handy.) I got a bit creative while staying warm inside today. I drew the side skirts using the same basic style cues from the original bed, and reuse the original FC fenders. Storage boxes mounted on top of the bed (vs...

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

Thanks. I'm 44 yrs. old, so I remember ones (with less character) in bowling alleys and whatnot, but this one has a great look/design. I just need to find a "purpose" for it, and something healthier to dispense. :)

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

Its's a '60s-era National "Consoline" cigarette machine that I bought a couple years ago...looks great in my small, Mid-Century house. :) I plan to fully restore it at some point. My kids vote that I should have it dispense candy. I argue that nobody needs that much candy. I still have to...

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

I thought so, especially for the price (it was a great deal, IMHO). Bringing "redneck" indoors in Michigan in February (I have to get these greasy things moved up to the garage next week). :) I picked up a '96 NP241 DLD transfer case w/linkage, Cummins flywheel housing/starter/flex plate...

My 2004 Jeep Wrangler LJ With a 4BT Cummins and Some Stuff Build

Subscribed! Can't wait to read through this more tonight (I built a nice LJ on 1-tons and 37s a few years ago, and am still partial to LJs).

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

Thanks! Last weekend, I found a 12v vacuum/power steering pump for my project (no pic). The husband of a woman I used to work with parts out a lot of Cummins-powered trucks, and was local. This one came from a '96 Dodge 3500. Today, my wife & I drove to Kewanna, Indiana and picked up this...

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

Probably so. I'll look for something locally, but will keep this in mind. For now, I have shelled out my share on FC stuff over the last week, and need to let my budget recover. :)

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

Monday update... The Jeep gods have shined down upon me, as I found this 16-ft. aluminum chassis cab flatbed & storage boxes for a very reasonable price while looking for something completely different (I actually found the ad a couple weeks ago, but didn't notice the beds listed with all the...

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

We picked up my new-to-me '94-'95 47RH auto transmission and various other bits (flywheel housing, flex plate, starter, trans mount, 6BT exhaust downpipe) today. I also got some heavy-duty casters from the seller. I plan to use them, some misc. steel, and a few spare Jeep Cherokee bottle jacks...

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

It's not pretty yet, but it eventually will be. Here's my new-to-me '95 Cummins 12v 6BT (200K miles). Pay no attention to the turbo condom (compliments of my mechanic friend, Ron). Ron sold me the motor, which he pulled from the '95 Dodge that he parted out, and even delivered it to me. Easy...

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

Well, I bought my first "real diesel" yesterday—a 1995 Dodge 12v 6BT. My mechanic buddy Ron is going to deliver it to me later this week. It runs great, but I'm sure I'll spend a good amount of time cleaning it up and making it "purty", as well as doing some basic preventative...

My Jeep FC170 (Forward Control) "Patina Rod" project

I'm picking up both my new-to-me Cummins 6bt, and 47RH transmission/related parts late next week. Can't wait (just need to play "Garage Tetris", and make a bit of room. I am still looking for a 1998-2002 NP241 DHD transfer case (from behind a Cummins Auto), if anyone has one available. I...

    2005 Rubicon LJ

You are correct. I had to drop the tank anyway to install the Rokmen gas tank skid. I wanted to tie into the 2nd-rearmost crossmember for additional support (vs. just having the rear bumper/crossmember taking the load).
