^ Thanks I can't wait to actually try it out. Fook me that s10/van looks heavy. Holy crap I hope they regeared that thing or that little 2.8 must be just screaming.
So in other very exciting news!!!!
This probably won't mean anything to most, so let me explain. Here in BC, in the interior...
Thanks I really appreciate the good words. I have to say out west felt like a world away when we were contemplating moving out here. Now it's definitely home.
Believe me I know what you mean. I grew up in Kingston. Even trying to find a clean rust free 2nd gen would be pretty tough.
I...
^ friggin hope so lol,
Nicole picked up some screen for the windows yesterday. We opted for a screen with a tighter "no-see-um" pattern.
If anyone is doing this themselves; definitely by the little spline roller tool. Also a little silicone lube goes a long way.
Happy to have this done...
The main gasket that will seal the boxes to one another is 2828 on this link.

I built my upper box with a 1/2" gap all the way around the main frame. So there is a bit of play when popping the top. This 1" d section gasket will fill that gap nicely. It's...
Just ordered 10 sheets of aluminum!!!
We went for a little boot around on Sunday.
This is why we love having a smaller truck.
More puffballs
Then something a little out of the ordinary for mid June.
This was a day my laziness actually helped. So glad I never pulled the chains out of...
^Thanks guys. Twin Duro, yeah I'm not going to lie it surprised me how tall it looks on the truck popped up.
Getting down to some of the nitty gritty stuff.
Found the back window on friday. Got it and the back gate all put together yesterday.
Pulled this out of a raider canopy. The only...
Thats some serious warpage. I've had to do something similar (rework) once or twice now. In the end I spent more time procrastinating doing it then the actual amount of time it took to do it right the second time. What gauge or wall thickness are you using?
Haven't got a cance to do anything yet this week besides pick up material.
A buddy of mine came over so we did test fit it on the truck again to make sure I didn't severely mess anything up or miss anything.
First good luck at how everything works.
Very cool to stand up inside of it...
Slow day today but got a bite more done.
Added a couple cross bars in the cab over bed. Also discovered I inadvertently built the bed tray to slide forward as well.
Started on the big gate,
Checking to make sure both gates will work in unison.
Figuring this all out with gasketing...
I've got to be honest, I didn't know any better. Right at the beginning I did buy that dewalt 60 tooth carbide blade and honestly it worked like a hot damn. The first store I called about a new one showed me the error in my ways. Glad I didn't loose you. You'll be happy to see this.
That's...
Got out yesterday and sighted in the 6.5. What a lovely gun to shoot. Got it dialed in at 200 yards and we were getting nice groupings so easily.
Pushed through a road that hadn't been driven yet this spring. Had to drag a couple of trees off the road and helped a guy get his dodge out of a...
Yeah Edmonton is a tough spot, bit of a drive to get anywhere. Some pretty awesome fishing not to far away though!
Some of those were truly monsters. I kept telling the wife I wouldn't want to go picking mushrooms again after being spoiled like that.
Got a bit more done yesterday.
First...
Just echoing the second post, steering components and balljoints are going to be a weak point for this truck. Especially if you crank up the t-bars at all. The spider injector design is also a common failure point. Oil cooler as previously mentioned is notorious for hoses failing and leaking. Do...
^ Tell me about it. I'm jealous too.
Took the wifey mushroom hunting for her birthday. Immediately stumbled upon this 2x2 shed side by side.
Then after a few km's we started to stumble onto the Morels.
We found fire morels mixed in with some blondes I believe they are called?
then we...
