Battery Isolator Question, yes i searched the forums to no avail

They're billed as water-resistant. Would be easy to make an enclosure for it out of pvc fittings or an ammo can or even tupperware. I would not mount it on the rail hoping it's water resistance outlasted its usefulness. Blue Sea RBS or ACR is a better solution IMO, especially if ML. I'd forego...

inflating tire, cubic feet of air in tire and in air tank and psi

Unless there's a standard specific to these little compressors, duty cycle means the portion of a 10 minute period a machine can be run under load. 33% = 3:20. This is the way pumps, compressors, welders, etc etc etc are rated.

inflating tire, cubic feet of air in tire and in air tank and psi

I'll take a stab at actually answering the original question. A BFG AT KO 235/85R16 is 31.7" tall and 9.2" wide in section. Ignoring the thickness of the rubber, that cylinder has a volume of 7,215.26 cubic inches. A 16" x 6.5" wheel (I guessed, used BFG's "measured rim width") has a volume of...

inflating tire, cubic feet of air in tire and in air tank and psi

Yep. Only had a CO2 setup a short while but it's been a game changer. Inflates tires FAST. I use a cheap fixed regulator so I'm always flowing 150 psi but do have a cheap inline regulator (think paint gun) for my Simonds crimper (not cheap lol). My HF Earthquake 1/2" impact runs like a...

    Custom Class C 4x4, what's it worth?

Uh..."should"? Only if it concerns them. Get so tired of this superior, pushy attitude. Next you'll say he should install an overdrive transmission, should buy only Shell gasoline, should have his tires filled with nitrogen, should brush his teeth twice daily, should have 3 months salary in...

    Van heating thread

Read post #37. You skipped standby entirely. For most people leisure camping off grid, practicality beats frugality and the Amp Hour is king. Fuel cost varies enough (seasonal, regional, etc) to be a wash IMO but electrical power is always precious. Also no mention in your cost comparison of the...

    1990 Ford Coachman E250 Supervan

The two tank system electrically switches pumps/senders with the dash mounted switch and the selected pump running is what mechanically switches the valve. If the rear pump didn't work that would cause a run-out situation when the front tank went dry but it wouldn't explain the gauge not working...

    Boomer the Quadravan 4x4 Camper

An electric lift pump can solve that excessive engine cranking issue, including the one from leaking return lines, o-rings, fittings. VERY good upgrade to any IDI.

    Van heating thread

First, it's not exactly ancient and I appreciate those who use the search. Welcome aboard, Backcountry Pursuit. Second, luthj's claims like, "The standard for fuel consumption, noise, and power usage, would be the Espar D2/D4 air heaters. Other than similar webasto units they have no comparison...

MG Metalworks Radius Arm/Coil Spring Axle Conversion for E-series Vans

I'd love to see a 75-91 kit offered. The simplicity and coils, etc make this kit just awesome. I mean, even the radius arms are OE Ford! A friend who's been camping with us recently (packing gear on dirtbikes, not van camping) is van shopping and looking for a 4wd and he's got the cash to do as...

MG Metalworks Radius Arm/Coil Spring Axle Conversion for E-series Vans

is this photo part of your construction process making the kit, or part of the owner's process installing the kit? I guess I'm asking if there's welding required.

MG Metalworks Radius Arm/Coil Spring Axle Conversion for E-series Vans

Given the recent work you've done with 3rd gen Fords...any idea of offering this kit for them?

Ford Generation 3 build and suspension upgrade (WTD)

2008 and newer Ford E250 are 2wd. The parts changed do not mention axles, transfercase, driveshaft, etc. The pictures do not show lockout hubs. They are 2WD.

MG Metalworks Radius Arm/Coil Spring Axle Conversion for E-series Vans

Oh man. This looks like the simplest, best engineered swap I've seen. Lots of unknowns at this point I really like what I see.

    Custom Class C 4x4, what's it worth?

Well I'm glad my response to the original poster was met with such enthusiasm... If a person wants a small (~20') 4wd class c motorhome with the tire size and clearance this one offers, i do not think you can readily buy one, ready to use and with things like solar, composting toilet, etc for...
