The price of freeze dried is pretty steep up here in Canadaland. so I do the dehydrate thing. Today I did 2 kg about 4.5 lbs in my Nesco dehydrator. From there i can Vac-bag them, and just take a bag or 2 on my forays. It really shrinks in size and weight with the only offset being a req. for...
Nesco FD 75. Its a good benchmark model , you can get various add ons . Extra trays ,fruit leather trays and non stick small hole trays for small stuff like herbs (and onion);) For reference each of my paragraphs in my Thread lead shows each step.
Cooking
So I got a dehydrator, and immediately put it to work. I made an econo batch of spaghetti, and from there an it through the machine. The issue that normally pops up are 1)drying time and 2)storage
1)To compress the drying time i cooked it down as much as I could then put in in the...
Got an older 10/22 and a SBI magazine adapter as the BX 15,25,50 are all prohibited up here in Canadaland due to our gun laws being made up as they go along, and facts not mattering. This shows the mag adapter in use with Remington 597 mags, how it looks and works vs a standard rotary magazine...
That's great Chris, now if you hunted anything larger than a raccoon you'd see the need. Yes you can take game animals with a bow or spear, but I've decided to take advantage of the modern scientific advances ,to take my game ethically with a minimum of trauma .If you don't hunt congrats.
I've...
I'm a bit of a farm boy , but also raised in an urban area. I really hate to recommend putting them down but that is my thought though, occasionally that is the best course. Up here in the central BC area some moose ,deer and elk get a massive amounts of ticks[+100's]. This weakens the immunity...
End of report wrap up.
A smaller round that fits an AR,that hits like a .308 WIN with less recoil. It has better BC then most .30 caliber bullets less wind drift. With it's reduced recoil I was able to use a semi auto to it's advantage at 400+ m . Other than the ammunition cost I think this...
So a friend of mine has been having a few problems with his Canadian made Nonrestricted rifle.it's also in 6.5 Grendel. Looks like an AR but its notdue to the way the upper and lower are fabricated . ALBERTA TACTICAL MODERN VARMITER Very nice!
Well after having to replace my scope rings, i took it to the range. I did a zero shot a few groups then let loose at the 400 and 500m steel tgts. With no ballistic charts i let loose 4 rds at each and hit 1 times each tgt. But I now know the drop i should do better next time.
100m
Yes YMMV , while I starting shooting again after I got out of the CF. I tried to start using a shotgun, I never developed a knack for one. Tried a few a 500 Mozzie 870 Rem 1100 something or other that I sold to a friend and a Turkish manufacture semi auto.
So they are done. Now the dangerous parts according to our Canadaland guv'iment are locked away ?? I found out the A1 upper is CMMG it has an Anderson lower 11.5 barrel in 5.56 for shooting it out in closets. The 20" Odin works barrel is on a upper and lower made by Alberta TACTICAL
Well I took it to the range and I did some ladder testing with powder and bullets. It appears that I may have found a good start point next time out, the chronograph makes the trip also. Will keep y'all updated, but for now heres small charges of tannerite vs my bolt 223 play safe.
I have also...
