What is the hard sided portion, walls/roof, made of? Is it just raw sheets of aluminum like most others or is there any composite material or other material with insulative properties?
Yeah it does look nice. Interesting with the flared sides. Next time I'm down in Denver with some time on my hands I may stop by to check them out. More out of curiosity than anything.
If I did not just recently put an AT Summit on my 2018 Titan Pro4X I'd be selling my truck and buying this set up. The Titan is a great and very overlooked truck and the OEV camper is top notch. Maybe it's me but the Camp-X looks taller than others I've seen. Does it have taller side walls?
I'm not a lawyer but usually in bankruptcy secured creditors get paid first, aka the banks. Any loans he took from a bank were most likely secured by the assets of his company which probably include equipment, supplies etc. Not sure where a partially built camper would fall into that but I...
He certainly has a great product. Some people are extremely good at design and fabrication but terrible at running a business. I have no clue what his back office looks like, besides being a mess, but if he's running it he may want to hire someone or a few other people who know how to address...
30 months is not even close to the average of other manufacturers of this type of product. They are significantly shorter. It would be nice if VO was a little more honest with the expectation of delivery times. That's all I'm saying.
30 months. Certainly that must be incorrect since their website says current lead times are approximately 12 months! Or maybe the website is misleading and blatantly lying. To me the company is just as important as the product they put out and from what I've read Vagabond Outdoors the company...
Just to muddy the waters a bit more here is another new option. Interesting design with the flared sides allowing for an east/west sleeping platform. I'm not sure I'd like that protruding out though. As you can see there are many options out there to choose from. This market is becoming a...
Nice set up. I have yet to see a dickinson heater set up and run out the tent like this. And I gotta say with a chair like that inside the camper you travel in comfort and style. It's like a mini lazy boy. I like it. Good luck with the sale.
As mentioned by others it is all about the compromises and what works best for you. There are many good options out there. You just need to find the one that meets most if not all of your needs. I agree with Zillon that the bed on gas struts was one of the things that helped seal the deal...
You're definitely not insane as others have already said. For the very reasons you mentioned is why we decided to go with a topper camper over a slide in. I love having my truck bed open for everyday use and then being able to load it up and set it up for camping in a very short time. We...
I have the same topper on my Titan and optioned almost the same. This is a great topper and a great price. If I had not gotten one last October I'd be all over this. Whoever gets it I'd also jump on the thermal pack. That combined with the truma makes for nice camping in the cold. Can't...
You'll probably have to find a smaller Overland/Camper shop that uses them and also does aftermarket installs on rigs. I know AT Overland is a licensed installer as they install the Truma Vario heater in their campers and installed one in my At Summit Topper. I know on their Aterra camper...
No build thread. Maybe I should start one. I've kept it very simple as I like to use my truck as a truck most of the time so the bed is kept empty with no permanent buildout. I'm using a couple of Dewalt tough system drawer boxes and some OAT bags for storage inside the camper, along with a...
I'll second the comments on the Titan. I was a Toyota guy from 1995 until 2020 when I bought a barely driven 2018 Titan Pro4x. Hands down the best truck I've ever had. People don't give them much respect and its too bad they are so overlooked. They don't know what they are missing. I've...
We've gotten no water intrusion or noticeable dust at all in our Summit. I sealed the perforations in the bed with some butyl tape and used a tailgate seal kit on the tailgate. Just got back from a trip with temps down to 21 degrees and with the truma heater not one drop of condensation. Nice...
We were able to get inside a ST at the Overland Expo Mountain West this past August. We also got into pretty much everything else at the show. We currently have an AT Summit so are not in the market for a new camper but if we were the ST would absolutely be the one. So light and bright inside...
