I have the Prodigy/Tekonsha in my 04 Sierra and my work 03 Excursion. Simple to use. I like them and the guys who tow with my Excursion have had no complaints. It really is no different than the OEM in the 2013 F250 we have.
Thanks!

04 Z71 CC Sierra
Has Rancho shocks (whoopie!) and 18inch Denali rims (BFG AT KO).
Completely stock other than that. Of course, I do not do all the things I see pictured on this site. I have run her through 2.5ft of running water and over rocks ...
Once a year we are getting out for 2-3 weeks, averaging 4000 miles.
Other than that, 2-3 times camping a year. Not enough, but boys are young, they play baseball, and we have large families which equal at least once a month getting together.
GM's 5.3 is a great engine! First, I will say that I love my Fords and I think the 7.3 PSD is a pretty much bullet proof engine. With that said, I have been very surprised with my 5.3 in my 04 Sierra. We bought her with 50K on the clock and she has 172K on her now. I had to replace the...
I just out my third set of BFG KO's on my truck. They last right around 40k miles before I replace them. My only issue is when they are a bit worn, they get noisy and don't do well in be snow. If these new KO2's had been out, I would have given them a try. They look really good in my...
Hi all
I have a question on the awnings I see on some of the expidition vehicles. What are the brands that are commonly used? How easy/hard are they to set up? How durable are they in wind? What is the life expectancy of them?
I am contemplating putting them on the side of some of my...
I have driven both on highways. I prefer the Chevy/GMC. The Toyotas have always felt cheap to me. Lots of loose plastic pieces and not alot of strength. I personally do not like the way they feel on the highway .. and after 200K miles, it feels cheaper. With the Chevy/GMC, I have always...
I have the lifetime version and absolutely love it. We have probably spent 25 nights sleeping in it over the last year. We have towed it over 10k miles.
We wanted a JJ, but cost was out issue. We found our LT for ~1500 new.

I don't have one so can't answer the original question. However, we have a Mr. Heater (smallest one), which is perfect for our Lifetime trailer tent. This past summer we were by Cedar Break, temps were in the upper 30's at nice and we were quite warm with the little heater.
We had two...
Hopefully I am the right forum for this ...
I have a lifetime tent trailer and i would like to have a tarp/cover for it. Our last road trip, stuff got really dirty ... So I would like to protect the load. Is there an existing tarp/cover that has roughly the following dimensions? I have...
I have an older GMC sierra with the 5.3. I have never had an engine leak, just the front axle at 160k miles and the rear diff around 140k (had maybe 30k miles on it).
I hope the new ones don't leak because I hope to buy a 2013/2014 in 2-3 years.
Not mine, no relation, just saw it online.

I have one of those ... it was left at the house my wife and I bought. It is not that roomy inside. It is 6 1/2 feet long, but the walls are ~3 inches thick, so you are down to 6 foot Interior Dimensions. A little tight for me.
Great reading there. I never knew there were two types of units. The thread also got me to look at the cost of them, WOW ... I was not expecting the price. Anyplace to buy them used? I saw that he rented them, but he is to far from me for that to work.
Thanks!

The fridge would sit out in either the bed of the truck or the trailer. Both of those are exposed to the elements.
Thanks for the input. Where is the best place to buy one? I will search Google, but if someone has a great place to buy from, that helps me. Gotta get a feel of the price.
First, if I am in the wrong section, please move this discussion.
My family of 5 (two adults, kids 7, 6 and 4) like camping. This year we have ventured into the more remote locations for extended periods of time. We have been using ice chests and they seem to last 3-4 days.
Would a...
