I finally pulled the trigger on some Bilstein 5100s and got them installed Saturday. Huge difference. The Jeep feels alot more firm now, but rides much smoother on rough roads. I also figured out the sagging problem. Once I actually pulled off a tire and climbed underneath it was pretty obvious...
These were taken in Cache Valley, Utah a few years ago. They're all untouched, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
These two were taken about 30 minutes apart in different locations.
Too bad I didn't see this thread earlier, I was there on Sat. Would've been nice to meet a fellow Expo member. I had a chance to climb in this thing, it's a pretty cool little camper.
The lock n roll should be here by Friday (thanks Martyn.) It needs a new tongue jack and I need to build a rack on the tongue for action packers. Then I just need to wire the Jeep for trailer lights.
I really thought I would have to lift it so it wouldn't ride tongue high, the Jeep is lifted 7" with 37"s to give you an idea of how much clearance the Kamparoo has. :Wow1:
Has anyone been using their Warn tire carrier/bumper for towing? I'm hoping to get by towing a 1400lb trailer without another reciever. Vehicle is a 2005 Unlimited. The way it's braced to the frame it looks strong enough to me. Anyone tried and had one fail?
Disclaimer: I know the bumper says...
Picked it up yesterday. :wings:
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, I'll get some more pics this weekend when I'm cleaning it up a bit.
Any tips or tricks I should know about? The seller didn't know too much about it, he hadn't used it much in the year he owned it. What's the easiest way...
Thanks for the pictures guys. I would've gone to look at it today it we weren't under a winter storm warning. :( The lawn was turning green and I was wearing flip flops on Friday and now we have around 16" of snow since last night.
So what trails could you pull these through? Class 4...
Xj mike, do you have any pictures of yours opened up? The pics on Kamperoo's website suck. I'd like to see more pics of the inside and of the "kitchen" slide out.
