I'm not looking for something to tow on trails like Golden Spike. I'd like something that will hold up exploring places like the White Rim trail and San Rafael Swell region.
My Jeep is lifted 7" on 37" tires so a RTT is out of the question. Other than your fridge and food is there any gear...
How durable are the Kamparoo campers. I'm looking at a 2002 Kamparoo Trans Cont pkg locally for a great price. I need to know if this will hold up being towed offroad. Also, in the pictures I've seen I can't tell if there is any place to put my Engle 45?
I just picked up a Camp Chef All Terrain stove from REI last night. Looks very heavy duty. Best of all, I used a 20% coupon, and a gift card for the entire amount. Hopefully I can get out and use it soon.
That's disapointing :( I've got some Cabelas gift cards and was considering trying one of these.
Edit: It is only 240W when run from the power outlet in the vehicle. It is still 660W when run off the battery using alligator clamps.
You could download GPSBabel (converts all thing gps to different formats depending on your needs) and see if it will convert your gps file to a Garmin track file. Might be quicker depending on how many waypoints your file has.
Would you be willing to share the file with us?
I just got an Acer Aspire for my wife from Newegg for $450. That leaves money left over for a nice wireless printer. It has 2gb of ram and a 160gb harddrive. So far I'm pretty happy with it.
I got my Aspire One today and so far I love it. No problems setting up wifi or anything else for that matter. The battery life is awesome, almost 6 hours surfing the web. I went with the 6 cell, 160 GB model. I had no problems installing everything from a flashdrive and a portable usb powered...
I vote for number 3. I was thinking about buying a Spot soon but I might wait untill the new model comes out. One of my concerns with the current Spot was accidentally hitting the 911 button when the unit was in my pack, I like the idea of the cover.
How would a mount like that work in a vehicle like a Wrangler that requires the seat to fold forward to access the rear seat? Will this work or do I need to find something that mounts to the console?
I'd love to see some more pictures of your drift boat. I've been wanting to build one for a few years now. Maybe post some info and pics in the boat forum.
What is so special about the Rubi flares? I have the 7" Crown flares and am very impressed with them. I've had them smashed against the side of my Unlimited and thought they were done for but came out with only a few scratches, not even any white marks. I only paid $180 for the set.
Just so you know, that model comes with the 3 cell battery that lasts less than 2.5 hours. For $400 you get the 6 cell (5.5 hours) and a 160 gb hard drive. Worth the $50 in my opinion. (I'm getting the white one though)
Thats what I would do. I usually leave the laptop at home at just carry my Map60csx but nRoute is very easy to use. I haven't used Delorme or National Geographic so I can't comment on those but I like Garmin maps.
I usually air down to 8psi when I wheel and just drive back to town to air up. Usually in Moab my tires stay at 8psi for the entire trip. For short trips on pavement it doesn't concern me, I've never noticed my tires heating up more than normal but I'm running 37s. Maybe they take longer to heat...
