Hmmm the payload is not that impressive to me to be honest, that numbers gets equaled or beaten by the much smaller 7series Pickup of Toyota (which of course has a much worse ride) also is it true the titan only comes as crew cap and ends up longer than a F-250 single cap?
Yes of course it was only the most expensive military line of MAN that used the boxed frame from the 70's till the 2010's, after that they optet for the cheaper HX series with a civilian open C.
The boxed section was 206x100x8mm, the L on top 150x70x8, however this was made out of one single...
Yes AFAIK the 3rd gen Ram 2/3500 was already fully boxed. However it was and is always the smallest out of all 3 frame, aside from the chassis cab, which is open c in the rear end and similiar or bigger in size compared to the Chassi cabs of Ford and Chevy.
Well even really bif Trucks like the MAN KAT are based on a fuly boxed frame

This design is a boxed fram front to rear with a L-Pice one top, so you get both the benefits of total stiffness and...
Dodge hat boxed frames in theier 2/3500's since around 2004 i think, Chevy since 2011 and Ford since 2017.
I think a rigid frame is better on the road and equally good offroad if the suspension helps out. From the perspective of longevity a stiff frame will of course live longer compared to a...
Hello,
does anybody have pictures or data on those rather rare vehicle frames? As far as i know the first Titan was based on the Armata which was a modified Patrol Y61 frame, but what is the "normal" second version based on? And how strong is that commercial frame under the XD version?
Is it...
Really? I thought all Trucks of this size range where fully buxed for like 20 years? Was this the same for the Titan? Because all the 3 big US companys where fully boxed so much longer?
Hello,
since the frame of the 2007+ Tundra is at least similiar to that of the LC 200, ist it the same size frame rails? Or did it got stronger with years due to regulations/weight increase? Also how does it measure up to the Ford F-150?
What i know: The LC 200 has a solide 185x90x3.2mm...
Hello,
so since the HD lines are pretty much the biggest and most sturdy trucks i can drive around here, i would love some more detailed input.
The silverado would be a good option, since it good the potentially smoother independant front suspension (probably not as tough as the Dana Super 60...
it sounds like the US-Version got a lot more high strenght steele and what not - so bad luck for us Europeans i guess?
Anyone know if that changed at some point? Like 2019? Because i also heard that the EU version got the stronger frame since it is identical with the Aussie version. Very confusing!
Well bot the F-50 and the Ranger are listet with a profile of 230x90x2.2mm, the exact same measurements. While a bit thin this is indeed quite big, a Defender is 185x85x2mm so way weaker, a G-Wagon is 155x75x3mm, so thicker but still weaker because of the smaller size and even the big land...
Hello,
i am looking to buy a Ford Ranger (preferably with the bigger 3.2 Diesel). I checked the documents and was impressed to see, that the frame is as big as the one used on the Ford F-150.
But was this already the case in 2012? And what else did change beside the appearance? Like...
Well for me its probably facory only since the legal options around here are limitet. But are the tube sizes really something to be considered hair-splitting? Because to me that's the most visuably thick and strong part of any axle and if it gets bend that#s it....
That would indeed make sense, but where does the Super 60 fit into this? I heard ist actually stronger than most D70's. What ist the tube size on a H233 or H260?
