Regular cab short bed 1/2 tons

I'm not sure about the 1/2t vs 3/4t trucks, but 35's (really 34.5") fits in the spare tire area for the 2014-up. It squeaks when you install it.

    Service/Utility Bodies

Typical service bodies have deeper sides than a pickup box. If you order a custom one, you can have the sides cut down, but that will increase the price a lot. Service bodies are heavy, made from 18-16 gage steel. They are not very flexible in shape or storage sizes, say compared to a...

FWC's 'sprung' at the front/top... what's the deal?

I don't know about the recent models, but the FWC roofs (and ATC) were 'domed' when built. They would weld up the roof frame flat, then slightly bend them down the middle and across the middle. This would leave the center of the roof slightly higher so water wouldn't puddle. These bends were...

Best place to look for used campers

If you are looking at Four Wheel Campers, don't overlook All Terrain Campers (ATC).

The Unnamed - 2019 Ram Power Wagon Build

Anyone have a tip for an LED dimmer? I want to put too much light inside my canopy, but be able to turn it down.

Ram 3500 High Output Cummins Build on 37's

Look at AlphaOBD for programming for RAM/Chrystler. You can do anything with it, outside of engine tuning. I went with Method wheels in 18x9, very strong forged aluminum at 4500 lbs. Also, 295-70x18 Cooper's with a 4000 lb load rating. At 34.5", the speedo is perfectly correct.

switching from a 4runner to a full size?

Larger tires and rougher tread effects mileage mostly below 50 mph. Above that, it's aerodynamics.

What cool things are powered from your upfitter (aux switches)

I'm trying to find a locker for the front of my 2021 Ram 2500 Diesel. Apparently they changed the axle on the 2019-up models. Different spline count from the Power Wagon's 33. Before that, you have the Eaton E-locker from the PW or an ARB. I'd keep the factory limited slip in the back...

    Desert Turtle - M1010 Build

I see you got the Sport headlights, excellent choice. If you add a relay, you can power low beam when the high beam is on, so you get both. More excellent.

Airing Down a 2017 F350 SD, Diesel, Crew Cab, LB ?

So, you have lower profile 20" tires, like 50 or 60 profile? Better keep these at a higher pressure than a truck with 16, 17, 18" wheels and a taller 70 or 80 profile tires. The lower profile pops off much easier. My tip is to buy some cheap take-off 18" wheels and mount a higher profile...

Thoughts on the Truckhouse Tacoma expedition camper...

An opening rear window like that is not DOT approved for commercial sale. Sure, you can do it for yourself, but you couldn't retail sell it.

    F350 Grille/Bumper Guard

Get the RH (or Buckstop) un-coated. Then you can make it work and get it powder coated locally.

    This Might Work!

Very interesting. It's like they reused the 'cut away' part from a class C.

    What Jack do you carry?

The Earth Cruiser Fuso's come with a 20 ton, air over oil bottle jack. If the tire was flat I don't think the jack would fit. But, I've got the leveling blocks. The EC's also have a socket under the spring clamp plate that receives the top of the jack.

    Flatbed conversions in North America?

Have you crossed the river and checked in with ProTech Flatbeds in Vancouver, WA? They can make an aluminum flatbed of any size. Were very reasonable a few years a go.

Does wind deflector help mpg ?

The best method to improve aerodynamics is to start at the back. Close the profile of the car smoothly. I would be good to get a picture of the OP's vehicle.

Someone did what I am trying to do! Foamie cap / camper on a full sizer...

The reason I suggested a flatbed was to make the build simple. An aluminum flat bed would be lighter than the original bed/tailgate. You could also do a 7x7 ft flatbed, it would stick out only 3" past the cab and probably not go past the rear bumper. You don't have to use a $12,000 Austraiian...
