Dont worry there is much more important things graphene will bring to this world besides improved solar. we will get there though, im sure its not very far. tech is moving so fast.
I would make my own. I have an 80w panel and its been fine but the charge controller is garbage and you can just find something to lean the panel on for alot less. If you really want the fancy folding setups Id just buy 2 panels seperate and buy a morningstar controller and just run your own...
So the common idea is 12.1 is 50% of the battery. I have had the low setting set on my ARB fridge and my truck did not start(its an old battery). So I have changed the setting to middle. The healthiest is obviously high, since it doesn't drain the battery as far. You should be good at the middle...
look up crowns or trojan,( they have awesome charts) charging voltages.
roughly 14.8 for charge, 13.5 float and 15.5ish for equalize.
https://handybobsolar.wordpress.com/ good info on small solar setups.
I dont have much time to rely to this so ill just add.
Make sure you have switched over all your lights to LED's, they use a fraction of the power conventional ones do. Also I agree a dedicated wire from the battery using the blue sea auto disconnect would be the best option for keeping your...
x2. 2 crappy batteries with a china controller and a square wave inverter. maybe I should start selling these.
Dont expect any real world use from that.
Just more of the same from me. Wind turbines are a excellent tool in the right location. the problem is they need to have a large sweep to capture any real energy. I used to love this site and even bought the books they made. Most small turbines advertise just make noise and very little power...
I dont get why anyone would spend so much on those. You can build a solid solar setup for $400 and just add a second battery to the car and you will be solid.
Looking at the specs its only like 33ah battery with a 160w inverter. Just saying
I have an optima battery (55ah) for the second one...
Ive never been a fan of rollable panels. They are either very inefficient or break since the cells they are not meant to be rolled up. Also in not a fan of those chargers. They are cheap made in china chargers that are not efficient at charging batteries.
I would second buying a renogy style...
Ive got a Yamaha 2000 because I gotta a better deal then the Honda. Cant go wrong with a Honda or Yamaha. There is many quiet china gennys around that have gotta great reviews if you wanted to save money. I felt better buying a solid name once and forgetting about it
I have not heard many good things about the flexible mono-crystal panels regretfully. those cells are not meant to bend and flex so people seem to complain about them breaking often.
Their are other flexible panels that can safely flex but efficiency is much low so you will need a larger panel...
X2 on the bogart. Its by far the best system. You fully charge the batteries and then it monitors how many amps leave the battery and then puts back the same amount so its totally full.
Not to shoot you guys down but mine never sits at 13v anymore. even with no fridge in the car and days of charging. a few hours after sunset mine settles at 12.7/8 volts. Maybe it has to do with them being like 6+ years old, but I dont see 13v anymore. I monitor my batteries like crazy. All...
