    I'm aware. I've done it. I'm wayyyyy under $20k on my 500hp Cummins in a Ford. And I didn't even take the cheap route to 500hp.

    Unless you're paying a shop for a show quality product... You're way over estimating for the swap. A 500hp or less CR swap would cost less than half your estimate with good parts.

    But if the alternator puts out more power at idle... You don't. My factory alternator was 110a max, running the ac at a stoplight I have more draw than that in aftermarket stuff. But my new alternator puts out 140a at idle.

    Aftermarket stuff, besides the swap- Radiator fans are 40a Fuel pump is 20a Trans cooler fans are 20a Stereo amp is 60a Plus a few other small drains. Those are all being used any time the engine is running. Already have two group 65 batteries. That's assuming I'm not running the winch...
