Thanks. Yes I had seen the ROA video on that and wasn't convinced that it would address roll. Sway itself is a pivoting at the hitch in a lateral direction (basically fishtailing.) My experience with the OBi has been very different: the rolling/rocking of the trailer is more of a vertical...
Thanks both.
I have a query out to OBi on the struts. I did track down those particular struts on the interwebs and looks like they're in the $60 price range.
Are they responsive to those kinds of requests? I'd think that most manufacturers would say "take the trailer to your dealer if it's under warranty".
Yeah, I really like it; so easy to hitch up. I think it's just a problem with any fully articulating hitch in that is allows for freedom of...
A couple of random observations/questions.
1. This thing is pointless if it's supposed to tell me the level of my trailer.
I have my trailer 100% level side-to-side, front-to-back and look at the bubbles. Why even bother with this or am I missing something about the purpose of this bubble...
This weekend I replaced my stock shocks with the Monroe 66440 shocks researched and mentioned by WillySwan. I got a decent deal of $37.5 for each at Rockauto.com.
Installation was pretty easy although one of the brackets was too narrow and it took some finagling to get the upper bolt in place...
Exciting!
We got ours in November and haven't even had a chance to christen it. First trip is a state forest in April then a roadtrip from the Mid-Atlantic to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. Will post any "discoveries" from those trips.
I went the camlock route for the grey water.
1.25" camlock connects to a 1.25" to 40mm adapter. I took off the downward facing elbow and used a new elbow facing towards the trailer's driver side then used the extra 40mm pipe to extend to right under the side frame. I'm not really too concerned...
My wife and I were about one month away from buying a Cougar 1/2 ton and we started researching RV quality and got really "depressed". Then a light bulb went off: given the growth in RVing, we were competing with a huge number of "campers" for scarce spaces. We love tent camping but getting...
Just found a little issue on my D15. The propane hose going through the supporting sheet metal base had its corrugated protective sheath installed improperly. The hose is rubbing against the sheet metal right where it leaves the base. Will have to remove and reorient it so that the sheath is...
My Propane/CO alarm just started doing the same thing. Only seems to get triggered when I'm plugged in to shore power.
When you added the inline 1A fuse, did you shut off power from the source somehow? Any problems since you've done this re-install?
Exactly what I was thinking; those batteries are heavy. Also wondering if the side to side pitching everyone has noticed when going above 65mph could be set up by uneven side-to-side weight distribution.
I haven't seen that one but before I bought my D15 I was looking at an OP15 and the dealer was telling me that Opus was coming out with an awning or extension that would fit over the back sleeper bump out. The idea was to reduce effects of sun on the sleeping area and provide additional rain...
I've been investigating this as well given that many of my trips are likely to be hours long and I don't want to reach a dispersed camping location and have to charge off a generator immediately.
I've found several youtube videos on how to wire up Anderson plugs, but what I HAVEN'T found are...
Anyone know what this little do hickey is on the door? Looks like it may have been designed to hold the door open on a catch, but the D15 has a hook for that down low.
What are others doing for privacy on the door? There's no shade and it's facing the shower. Not a problem for dispersed camping when it's just me and the missus, but when were in a campground....
Here's a youtube video of a guy outfiting his Opus OP 15 with tank heaters and running heating tape on the water lines. I'd imagine the same could be done with a Dweller:
