    Electric Fans Mounted in Hood

Whoa! That's a neat looking unit, might be perfect for my water-to-air intercooler, where's that from? (btw sorry for the highjack...)

    What is this?

Sorry, but I don't see that they share the cab. Look at the relationship between front window height vs. width. the whole cab is narrower on the one you posted which is logic since the forward control in the original post has the wheels tucked in under the cab and the one you posted has them in...

    Modified Hilux D4D Diesel Engine

That is impressive! Even from here, where we got them! I know this is a bit of a side-track, but do you have any leads on what to do to the 1KZ-T without decreasing reliability? I plan on fittíng an intercooler and a better turbo elbow + 3" exhaust... Thanks!

    pivoting frames and mounting campers

Exactly! And please do not see this as critism of either skill nor knowlegde, but you cannot visually see or detemine differences in construction. Differences in steel, how attachments are made, rivets used, stresspoints etc. are not easily detected. The original manufacturers have put...

    pivoting frames and mounting campers

If I may offer my opinion I think this discussion may in some respects be the wrong way around. Having followed the discussion plus the 2 or 3 others here on the subject I can't help but noticing that the reason some argue for using a 3 or 4 way pivoting system seems to be to allow the frame to...

    Conventional vs cab over..

Well.. She's not 19, but 35 and she hasn't got a trustfund but only 8,800 km's on the clock... But she has got portals, true 6x6 and locker all around! :victory:

    Conventional vs cab over..

:Wow1: Eh? What? I made no comment on what you can get in the rugged vehicle department, especially not in pick-ups. What I said was: "But we (you Tamangel and I) come from totally different automotive cultures, so I'm not sure what you can get in cab-overs where you are." An re-reading what I...

    Conventional vs cab over..

Exactly! The only reason would be because cab-overs are harder to find than what you call a regular. M.Bas and I both like the cab-over, but not 2wd, we like 6wd, portals and full lockers! :sombrero: But we (you Tamangel and I) come from totally different automotive cultures, so I'm not sure...

    MAN 6x6 camper

Thanks! Well, we are at a stage where were just beginning to change the engine. So it will be a while before we get to the windows, we haven't even got the sub-frame yet, let alone the box... But on the Seitz-Dometic issue, isn't that what Earthroamer uses? I can see that the all glass models a...

    MAN 6x6 camper

Thanks for the very informative reply! I can see why they're the favourite in the business, but it is a lot of money, and might be outside our budget... We plan on having a few more windows than the average in what we see of expedition vehicles. But it is really great to know where they are from.

    MAN 6x6 camper

Hi Egn Im really interested in your windows. i have a few questions on them, if yoou don't mind. It looks like the are all glas, and have build-in flyscreens/curtains? Who makes them, and whats the cost? Are they heavy? We are building an off-road camper on an old Volvo TGB13 chassis and...

    pivoting frames and mounting campers

I was reffering to the front springs. But let's not highjack the thread. It's really interesting!

    pivoting frames and mounting campers

They look exactly like the bushings in the leaf springs in our Volvo. Wait... It runs on Trelleborg tires too...?!

Well... we are not running a small 4X4... but a small 6X6:coffeedrink:

    Winch power

Well you say not THAT much. But you who are in the know, how much is it for lets say a 12,000lbs winch? And what is needed? I take it that a servo pump won't be enough... or you will have to wait for this:costumed-smiley-007guy to wake up before you get anywhere?
