Had to put new shoes on the Rubi

I figured I would lose some gas mileage, the piece of mind will be worth it.

Had to put new shoes on the Rubi

Went up a size over stock, and went with theKO2s instead of the MTs. Hopefully these will perform better in the rain and packed snow.

Is a stock Sport ok for Overlanding??

I love the 4:1 transfer case! In steep terrain it is a lifesaver.

    Rango.....1942 Willys MB

My old '56 Willys CJ-5 had the air filter there on the firewall, the old oil bath foam filter.

If you don't mind me asking, what lift and tires are you running on your Black Rubi?

BFG TA/KO2 sizing and release dates...

Happy to see the new sizes, I like the thought of a 34" when I replace the stock BFG M/T. I will be replacing with a tire that performs better on packed snowy roads, like the Duratracs, but as sharp as the rocks are around New Mexico, I'm afraid to lose too many, the M/Ts handle the rocks...

    Looking at My 1st Jeep

I owned a 2010 JK Rubicon, loved it, the 3.8 was a little lacking on the highway, but offroad, with the 4:1 transfer case, never had an issue. I recently traded it in, and ate some "I'll never own a 4dr Jeep crow" for a 2015 JK Unlimited Rubicon, I love the space! I want to start doing some...

    It may be small

Thanks!! With the 3.6,the Rubicon may be had with 3.73s or 4.1s. I am not missing the 4.1s with the 3.6, I don't really rock crawl, so the give in the final drive ratio in low range is not a big deal.

I wish I could find non-ethanol fuel, but around here it all runs at around 10%, definite improvement with real gas.

I have never noticed any real difference, but I will admit I listen to satellite 90% of the time. On the FM stations I listen to, I don't hear any degradation.

    It may be small

On my budget, it's the only way! As it sits, it is capable of 95% of the wheeling and exploring I like to do. One of my goals as I add stuff on, is to avoid tanking my gas mileage, right now I get near 20mpg in combined driving with the 3.73 gears, means I can go further per $$. I like...

But the first mod to the new Jeep is finished, took 10 minutes. I hate the factory antenna.

    2015's Baptism

We have been getting an incredible amount of rain for these parts, so I played hooky from work and hit some forest service roads. Didn't go as far as planned, I was by myself, I have no recovery system on the new Jeep yet, and it was like driving on a plastic sheet covered in Crisco, no fun...

    Not much of an Expo

When will you be passing through? We have had an extraordinarily wet year. The rains usually start up late June or early July. Your avatar makes me miss my old JKR I traded in last week on this new one, but I do love the room.

    Not much of an Expo

Yes indeed, the last two are 20 minutes from the house, and over 8500 feet. Shame the Forest Service has closed so many of the trails and fire roads.
