You got it. Not so much that it's better, just options. I did run it that way for a few months without damage to terminals (had the same concern). I like the second battery....but I hate loosing storage space:). I'm sure I'll move it again at some point.

You can strap through the vent/handholds directly across the top of the battery. This way you stay off of the lid and it's a solid tie down.

Nice set up. I didn't care for the arkpak mounts either. I have since moved the arkpak to the back seat foot area. I still have it strapped, but its sandwiched in so it does not move at all. Also popped the display lid off. I kept knocking it off by accident so I just finally removed it.

I've been very happy with the renogy 60 watt folding panel set. Comes with charge controller, carry case and very well built folding stand. Keeps up with my arb 50. You can get them on Amazon for about 200.00 bucks.
