I was real close to getting a yeti 75. Ended up with a ARB 50 and I'm lovin it. Keep in mind I have two yeti's, a 25 and a 85(both discontinued) that I have had for many years. I'm keeping the 85 as my wife loves it and uses more than I do. But the 25 has no space once you add ice. I can see...
had a couple of goal zero boulder 15's laying around and thought I would plug them in to see if they could get me by until I decide on a solar setup. The good, they store in the xterra tray up above and deploy with tray lid as support. They bad, only getting 8 watts out of these panels that...
Man, just plug it in a go have fun. The ARB is a great, well designed, travel fridge.
Note: I use the same tricks from ice chest.
-Pre chill chest
-pre chill food
- freeze a few drinks and food ahead of time. (Acts like ice)
PS: welcome to AZ!
Picked up the Diehard Advanced Gold today and it is happily charging now at about 76%. I like that the 730 display shows the charging and use watts. It started at nearly 100w from the wall and has now leveled out to about 43w. My ARB 50 powers up at about 65w and levels out at 50w. Will be...
I had no issue getting into it from the drivers seat or the back side door. The lid does not open all the way, but it was enough to get tall water bottles out of. Plus I can always just pop the lid off if I need total access. The only downside is i am usually cooking in the back.
looks like most of the retailers in Arizona no longer carry Exide......strange. About the only thing I could find was at Sears Diehard Gold AGM part #02850033 going for $199.99. Arkpak arrives tomorrow so I am going to give this one a try. Guess we do not have a high enough demand here in AZ...
I've got some old goal zero boulder solar panels from my escape that I want to try and use for charging my marine battery. I can't find one online and I'm hoping someone has one they are no longer using in the US.
First trip with the new ARB, three days out in the desert. Conditions: car parked in full sun, highs in the 80s, lows in the 60s. I pre chilled the cooler at home then filled with 3/4 cold drinks and 1/4 frozen drinks. Little bit of food in the dairy tray. Got two solid days on the ARB before...
Nothing fancy, really trying to keep my xterra interior uncluttered for daily use.
Installed the fridge so that we could get to it while on the road. Like having access to drinks and snacks.
Used the stock ARB tie down system and the seat brackets already had holes for the system. Front...
ok, I did not read the entire thread, but I have a question about which model to buy. I have an xterra and engine space is limited. This looks like a great option for the secondary battery. I am mainly going to be powering a ARB 50 Qt. fridge and perhaps a few devices such as GPS, InReach...
Another vote for oztent. Up until recently I've been sleeping in my xterra and this weekend is the first trip with the new rig. Can't wait to have standing room space and canopy that I can drive away from when needed.
Here is the old setup. Kelty carport.
New setup
