Yes, the 50 is a lot of space considering you can pack it full (no ice). I could have prob gone with the 37 for my use, but the price difference between the two is so small that I went with the 50.
Remember that warm drinks will make the fridge run more until the drinks are cold. Something...
I really tried to find cheaper boxes that fit well in the Garvin Rear Storage Rack, but all where usually an odd shape to maximize the space. Finally stopped fooling around and picked up two of the Front Runner Wolf Packs and one of the Flatpacks. Fit's perfect in the Garvin rack and still...
ARB portable kit is in and I like it. The switch is lighted, the compressor only runs when your using it (saves the battery) and it all fits well in the box. I also ordered the gauge which connects in line with the air hose and also acts as a deflator. Deflation and inflation are not super fast...
Anyone have experience with the smaller of the ARB portable compressor kit. Mainly just looking for a compact reliable compressor for tires. I seam to always find nails no matter how far off the beaten path I am.
Installed a garvin rack and had to adjust a little. Still in the same place but now using the garvin supports to tie the arkpak down. Used a piece of laminate flooring to make up for the thickness of the garvin brackets. Garvin rack is solid and well worth the price. Pictures do not do it justice.
I have recently switched to a fridge because I travel quite a bit for business and am out almost every weekend during the nicer months of the year. Like the extra space(no ice), dry contents and temperature control. Keep in mind though that you may need to upgrade your battery system to keep up...
Hitch lock and a huge cable lock through rim and around axle (the kind used to lock up motorcycles). Might not stop a determined thief, but would at least make it interesting.

I just plug my Arkpak into the cig lighter that is only on when the car is running. The fridge is plugged into the Arkpak. When camped more than a day, I use solar to keep the Arkpak topped off. I've got the fridge set to the lowest battery drain setting with this setup. If I'm home more than...
I came across these LED/Solar security lights on amazon and thought they would be perfect for camp lighting. Just replaced the sticky tape with velcro and I can stick it to various locations on the xterra and tent. A cheap convenience that does not require any wiring, battery drain or drastic...
Couple of easy mods. First, cig lighter usb plug so I don't have to switch the inverter on. Sits flush so I can close the lid when not in use.
Second, added the ARB socket to provide a solid plug for the fridge along with a better location for my setup. This is wired with an inline fuse...
Tested the Renogy today and I stand corrected, these panels will keep up with the fridge. Solar was charging at 3.4 amps, even with the fridge running the Arkpak was showing a positive charge of 5 watts. This was just a quick test, but I was impressed with the results.
good information: even though it was only about 80 degrees outside, the panels where hot to the touch. They ended up maxing out at about 15w, then dropped to 8w again when they got hot.
Ended up purchasing the Renogy 60W Folding Solar set and it arrived today. Have not had a chance to test yet, but I gotta say I am impressed with the quality of the set. Very well thought out and assembled. Heavy duty folding supports and I appreciate the rigid carry case. Handle is spring...
