I am going to guess that year Surburban has the same "L rod" holders as my 04 Yukon for the headlight assembly. I did notice once when I changed a bulb that the beam was low. I pulled the whole assembly and put it back in and it was fine. Some how I must have had something tweaked "just a hair"...
It seems like every post I make in your threads are 1) great write-up and 2) amazing pics. And ditto for this update. I just have to remind myself to stop reading it on my phone because it just doesn't do your photography justice. Some spectacular shots. Cant beat how the light changes in the...
Great trip report thank you for sharing it! So cool to go through so many different ecosystems like that. You also prove how people can have a great time with a vehicle they know and plan their trip accordingly and not everyone needs a Camel Trophy vehicle to have a great trip.
And kudos for...
I get it....and believe me I proofread most of mine multiple times because I tend to be a little anal about them. Unfortunately my phone doesn't spell check the way my laptop does (so I missed "conscious") and I missed the apostrophe on "it's". But again, when it's a business website and they...
Thank you so much for sharing your trips. Both the write-ups and the photography are great. I really enjoy them. I know it's not easy to put them together for everyone so thank you!
I too have used one (not HF but something similar) with our Yukon when going with the three kids. Yeah it kills the departure angle but it allows me to get there where I can then unload it, take it off an then have my "USUAL" crappy departure angle back. Ha! Depending on what I'm carrying I have...
And if I were trying to sell you something I would give a *bleep* what you think about a forum response typed out on a phone. But I'm not.....so I don't. But thanks for playing. The question was about a retailer and the quality that they claim to have. I commented that I thought they should have...
Since you are talking about lots of long road trips I will echo the convenience of having lots of fuel. An old truck I had ('79 Chevy) held 56 gallons. I used to go back and forth to CO from MA a lot. It was always great to be able to pick and choose where I stopped for gas. Today I can do the...
It looks interesting and may well have the higher quality they claim but when I see typos on the website (text) I always wonder just how quality concious someone is. I know it's a minor point buy it's also the easiest thing to get right. Just my $0.02. The tent looks good, but I have no frame of...
Great pictures thanks for sharing them. I like NE when I have time to look (all too rare these days sadly).....when I'm hurrying it seems endless, but the beauty is there in those quiet little tracks connecting one place to another....I just have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy it and...
I too have wanted to make up screens and had the same reaction to the versions to buy....they want way too much money for them. Hot glue gun, magnets, felt and the screen I could do it for prob $20.
I sleep in the back of my Yukon quite a bit. No worries when it's cold with the windows down a...
Krax I get that totally...and you hit why I like when the tech comes down...i have lights stashed multiple places too and want to be able to lend one without asking friends for a deposit. Haha!
If I am reading this the question is not for how to mount it on your vehicle for repairs on the trail but how to mount it at home so you can do some work regearing your jeep at home? I went through something similar although I do have a workbench, I just didn't figure I would use the vice often...
Surprisingly my buddy says it out Surefire's his Surefire. ;) But in general I would agree with you. This one (Im referring to the OxyLED from Amazon I posted) is larger in diameter than the Surefire. But I also wont be pi**ed if I lose it. Each tool has its place.
For those of you who, like me, can't get enough of Mike's awesome race shots there's a bunch in this article about the KOH to keep you happy! ;) Great job...
Might try this one as an alternative....I have had great luck with it. Got one last fall for +/- $25 IIRC.....I saw they came down to $16 last week and ordered 2 more. Really well made, comes with charger, spare O-rings, insert to accept AAA batteries. And I didn't have to buy $750 of ARB stuff...
I got one of these last fall and really like it....allegedly 800 lumens on the highest setting (I always take lumen and CP claims with a grin of salt). Easy focus of the beam via sliding the lens. Comes with charger, new O-rings and an insert to accept AAA batteries. I think I paid $25 for...
