12v Cummins vs. 7.3 Power Stroke?

i PM'd this to ChuckB, but i guess it is relavent "based on my experience, the giant rear facing(usually detachable) things the infants need, can only fit in the middle seat. idk what the laws are where you live, its tricky to keep up with them, and they keep changing, but at 1 year we went to...

My wife was going black Friday shopping, so i pulled the camper off this morning and took my 3 year old for a drive. we drove from Ojai up hwy33, took Quatal canyon(12 miles of dirt) then up to Mt Pinos where there was a few inches of snow for my daughter to play in. After the first picture, i...

12v Cummins vs. 7.3 Power Stroke?

to the OP; i was in the exact same position 2.5 years ago when i bought my 97 CTD. as fair warning, i do wear flat billed hats:sombrero: my budget was 8K and all the crew cab OBS diesels were outside my budget, and the cash was burning a whole in my pocket. i almost bought a 2002 f150 crewcab...

slow build- 97 Ram CTD family truck/expo rig

my favorite thing about the console is having my light switches, literally, at my finger tips. (don't tell anybody) but i use my offroad lights frequently on the highway. there is nothing like the instant on/off of LEDs without having to lean forward and reach around on the dash for a switch...

slow build- 97 Ram CTD family truck/expo rig

Honestly its the most functional thing i have done to the truck. I did kind of "slap it together" but i havn't found enough flaws with it to rebuild it. It does mount using only those 2 middle seat bolts. It does not move. yes it touches the dash, but i have never heard a noise come from...

if you could do it over again

i would have bought a real 4 door, crew cab. even if it meant having a gasser and not a diesel(limited budget). 2 kids, both in car seats, really is a hassle. i find myself not driving the truck as much as id like, simply for this reason. "comfort and legroom" sounds like a bogus excuse, but...

My Build Thread: 1998 F-150 AKA Trunchbull

that would be a question for some F150 specific forums. The wiring you need, may exist down on the frame rail, and a simple wiring harness may give you what you need. I just dont know what was available on f150s and what options were available.

Cool pictures, i love being the least modified rig on the trail, and good to see a full size out in the dirt. i looked behind the bumper at the factory wiring and matched the wire size. It was surprisingly big, 10 or 12ga. that circuit is fused at the factory fuse block, but (unfortunately) is...

My Build Thread: 1998 F-150 AKA Trunchbull

i actually just used my trailer wiring connector. I have the battery grounded to the truck by a battery cable that bolts to the bed. Then i have a 7 pin trailer plug, with only the 1 hot wire(axillary) going up to the battery. i simply plug it in on my way to a destination, and when i get...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

thanks, i will have to go read your FWC thread. are you aware of the ford d60 knuckle swaps? i have been reading up on it on Pirate. Im leaning twords that route, so i dont have to hassle with the dodge unit bearings ever again, and you gain lockout hubs, and dual piston brakes. either way...

My Build Thread: 1998 F-150 AKA Trunchbull

there are ways to calculate wire size based on distance and the amp draw of the devices you plan to run. maybe try google i didn't want to run a big wire from the battery to the bed, so i simply threw another battery in the bed, under my sleeping platform. then i used the trailer wiring circuit...

    TwoTrack's Ford Ranger

your truck looks great! Im on the fence as well about 31s on my wifes cherokee, maybe going bigger. FYI the new Toyo open country 31s measure out to a full 31.1, not 30.7 like most 31s. they will be my next tire for that reason. hope that helps.
