    DIY legless awning

I was contemplating doing something like this as well, but with the tubes stored inside my cross rack pieces. I have http://www.tracrac.com/ which has odd oval bars that I think I can get something that fits inside. Fabric, several options, based on other people's posts on this forum...

    A Shoutout to Eureka Tents

I had a Eureka tent for the longest time (20+ years) and loved it. It performed very well with no complaints at all. When I upgraded, I found someone on freecycle that could use it and it's probably still going strong.

    carrying coleman fuel

I have an older MSR plastic bottle (maybe I can find a link if they still make it) that has an internal funnel (fits upside down inside cap when closed). I then use this to top off the MSR metal bottle that attaches to the stove. I've never run out while camping.

    New ArkPak?

fuses with ArkPak? I have a ArkPak 730 Portable Power with a Duracell Ultra Deep Cycle Marine & RV Battery (SLI31MDC,105AH) installed. I just placed an order for a 100W panel (Renogy 100 Watts 12 Volts Monocrystalline Solar Panel (RNG-100D)) and a Morningstar Prostar PS-30M Solar Charge...

    New to Solar

need to fuse? Based on that, I should be ok with my 105AH battery. The ArkPak has a charge controller built in with a meter. However, once using the solar controller to charge, it bypasses the internal charge controlller, is my understanding. The solar controller that I bought has a meter...

MSR Dromedary The MSR Dromedary also has a shower attachment. https://www.rei.com/search.html?q=msr+dromedary&ir=q%3Amsr+dromedary&page=1 I've been using one of these for drinking water and contemplating getting another and the shower piece.

    New to Solar

missing or improvements? So, I typically camp either long weekends or possibly a week. I don't use a lot of electronics (basically fridge and keeping my phone topped up). On prior outings, I have had this running, but it was sketchy toward the last day or so or when it was really hot as to...

    Concealing fiberglass flaws

At the end of the day, why does it matter that much? Once it's waterproof and can be just wiped down. It's probably just you and your SO, spend more time/$ on camping and just let it go as the best you could do... I don't think anyone is going to critique it or tell you it could be better...

Hard shell RTT in the rain (Attaching an awning)

I think I would instead use two straps (or paracord) over the top of the tent from the opposing side not anchored to the tent, but the truck rack or something, which could then hold a bar (or piece of pvc) with a strip of this. The bar or this strip would hang suspended (while keeping the...

Most popular stove's used in Overlanding

MSR For those of you that love MSRs (and similar) for various reasons (reliability, portability, fuel, size), but don't really enjoy the noise, I stumbled on this product which I didn't even know existed. aftermarket burner called quietstove: http://www.quietstove.com/quietstove/index.html...

Intro along with Morris Mule review

There was an old thread here where I had asked some questions around the L guards and posted their response at the time. page 3 http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/119310-Morris-Mule-Trailers?highlight=morris+mule If you still have questions, you might contact them though just to...

Post pictures of your Roof Top Tent's Interiors

RTT For my James Baroud, it's a queen size bed effectively. Threw a tarp under the matress to keep it off the fiberglass, bought some Queen-size sheets for over the matress, 2 wool blankets from Harbor Freight (in case), and a Rumpl blanket. So far, so good.

    Who likes the Telescoping ladder?

sliding vs telescoping I have a sliding ladder and the only issue that I've had (just acquired recently) is that when the springs on the truck flex getting out of the tent, the base of the ladder moves towards the truck (I think because the ladder was compressed and suddenly shorter). For now...

ARB 50 qt 12v power story

The ARB has pre-defined voltage settings that shut off to save your battery. I started doing it one piece at a time like texasbillet plans and then decided I needed an ArkPak vs doing the secondary battery install in the vehicle. The ArkPak will be portable to the next vehicle or a cabin. On...

Hard shell tent - are gas struts really better?

When I was considering the headroom, while I liked the angled tents, I thought long term that the equal height (where the two sides of the tent are parallel) would be more weatherproof.

Hard shell tent - are gas struts really better?

gas system I just recently got a gas strut tent. I was surprised at the effort to close it the first time, but after a few attempts I have come up with a system. To overcome the tucking fabric problem, I made two small rope (think paracord) loops to hold it about 3-4 inches from closure to...
