    The nice thing about a non-builtin is when it quits, it's easy to swap out. I wish the RV that we had actually used an ARB or something similar vs the built-in dometic.

    hoop idea Seems like a simple hoop (poles in tension, side to side). Two of these with fabric in between, one stays with the truck bed and the other is rotated/extended outward/staked would work.

    pvc I would think you could leverage some of the creative pvc extension poles from the awning thread for something useful as a self-standing stand inside whatever you use as a shower enclosure.

    moisture I would guess this would cause moisture to be trapped/held vs allowing to evaporate, but then again, only time will tell.
