    malibubts's 2022 Ram Power Wagon Build/Adventure Thread

First trip out for the new Power Wagon was to the Monongahela and George Washington National Forests, we took some time off work and enjoyed the outdoors for a bit. The trip contained some revisited spots along with a bunch of new exploring. To start off the trip off we climbed up the forest...

I found mine used on Facebook Marketplace. I think that's really where you'd need to buy them or somewhere else like Craigslist. I can't imagine they'd be easy to find new anywhere since they are a pretty limited option in terms of availability, have to be buying a Power Wagon and adding the...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

Been running this setup for the past year and have been loving it. I also wanted something simple that I could leave in the truck and have dispensed water. Only issue I've found is that the friction fit of the dispenser can get knocked lose on certain roads, but I'm sure there is a way to adhere...

IMO they are just OK as side steps. Wife and I are in the late 20s / early 30s crowd and she isn't the biggest fan of them as compared to the OEM side steps. I'd tend to agree, I don't think they are as good as steps, but I knew those would not fair well over time. The height of them isn't so...

Yeah and with the two tone on the Power Wagon they almost disappear into the truck. Would still look great though on something without the two tone! Wish the treads were a bit wider, but all in all if you can find a pair at a good price they are solid.

The OEM side steps had to go since they hung down too low, I knew eventually they would cause some problems off road. If I were ordering the truck I wouldn't have added them on, but the dealer did this on all their trucks. As far as unwanted options go though $400 for some side steps isn't a big...

    malibubts's 2022 Ram Power Wagon Build/Adventure Thread

I ran into a bit of trouble finding the Falkens in stock and a tire shop that was willing to install non-OEM sized tires, so I eventually just ordered from Tire Rack and used a local mobile installer. Granted it's been a couple of years and we have all of the supply chain issues, but I did not...

Yup, pretty much my driving factor in going 35s vs 37s. Don't want to run without a spare and don't want to hang a 37' spare somewhere off the truck. I've seen it take some folks a little work (deflation, heat shield bending, etc) but it should fit as you say. In other news, got the tires...

Will keep this in mind as I start using the truck and if I notice issues, thanks!

Tried to order some 35x12.5R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws while I was at Sam's Club today, but it appears they went out of stock since I checked last night. Guess I'm going to have to keep an eye on their site and see if I can find them in stock to order.

I got the radio and antenna installed over the weekend. I actually decided to mix things up a bit here. In my last truck I had an Icom 2730a and I have too many HTs. My programming would always drift between different radios, programming the radio in the truck was always a challenge, and in...

    malibubts's 2022 Ram Power Wagon Build/Adventure Thread

Yeah 35s are going to be my tire size just for logistics/cost reasons. I'd love to be on 37s, it's not the fuel economy or anything that bothers me, but they just seem like a logistics nightmare. I really don't want to run without a spare and seeing as the 37s won't fit in the stock location...

Honestly I'm pretty happy with how the truck rides already. I might possibly do a bit of work on the suspension down the line, but right now I don't really have any plans to tear into it.

Yeah you know you hear people say the tires are the stock Power Wagon are small, you tell yourself it'll be fine because you're spending a ton on a new truck already, then you see it in person and change your mind. Doesn't help my old truck had bigger tires either at 285/75r17. I figure I can...

I got the Decked drawers moved over pretty easily. They work fairly well for what I use them for. I really like some of the builds people make with more cabinet styles, but at least for now the Decked is 'good enough' and also let's me use the full bed easily when I need to run to the Home...

    malibubts's 2015 Ram 1500 CCSB Build

Unfortunately this will be the last update in the build for my 2015 1500 EcoDeisel as I traded it in this past weekend on a 2022 2500 Power Wagon. Over the past couple of years I've had a lot of emissions related issues and had a number of related parts replaced: EGR, DEF Injector, DEF Tank, at...

    malibubts's 2022 Ram Power Wagon Build/Adventure Thread

As much as I loved my 2015 Ram 1500 with the EcoDiesel, I finally hit a breaking point with all of the emissions gear required by a modern diesel. To make a long story short I had just about every emissions component replaced in the past 2 years with the truck accumulating a ton of downtime. I...
