    Odyssey vs. Diehard Platinum

I believe the Sears Platinum batteries were indeed the same battery, in sheep's clothing, as the Odyssey pc1500dt. I ran the Platinum's when Sears still sold them because they were about 100$ cheaper than the Odyssey battery with the same specs. In fact Sears warranty was better than the...

    Gaia MAP Icon Missing

I don't understand. I use Gia on an iPad and still see the Gia Map app icon on my home screen. What are you speaking of ? Got it now. I do not remember seeing a map icon on the bottom of the running Gia app on my iPad. I use the Gaia iPhone app so infrequently that I was not aware of this map...

    Herbie's Chevy Astrolander/ZMB Build Thread

Herbie, If you had owned and used an '80 Jeep CJ7 in the '80's to 90's you could have developed the skills and experience you are using now. Pick-a-Part runs, Shade Tree mechanics, one banana, two banana and three banana projects were common then, before a jeep owner could go to the aftermarket...

East Mojave Heritage Trail mini report

I traveled those routes in the '90's with Dennis and the FOMR group. Great memories. Need to do it again in the spring before the temps go up. Thanks for posting the adventure report.

Anyone using both lead acid and lithium (battle born) through d250s b2b charger?

Read the battery manufacturers info on the battery. You will find that LiFePO4 are not starting batteries and should not be paced under the hood (temp too high there).

Odyssey (or general Battery) Maintenance Charging

All you state is true. Sears used to sell a platinum line of Odyssey manufactured or relabeled batteries. Same specs as the Odyssey battery, 8 year replacement and 10 year prorated life as i remember. Used a pair for 8 years in a Ford F250 diesel pickup. About that time sears started closing...

Odyssey (or general Battery) Maintenance Charging

I cannot find the tech manual they used to share on their web site. But big group 31 Odyssey batteries require a higher voltage charge than others about once a week to keep them happy. I did find this info from Odyssey about battery recovery, with similar info...

Small 12v 100AH LiFePO4 battery system for use in a camper

Do Not use a BP-100 to charge a battery with the Charger+ lead wired to the BP100 'out' stud and the Battery + lead wired to the BP100 'in' stud. This scheme runs current thru the BP100 in the reverse direction and can cause a fire.

Small 12v 100AH LiFePO4 battery system for use in a camper

There is a figure in the BP-100 'manual' I received (Rev08 27-03-2017) with the product with some words about second battery protect. Here's an image of figure 5: The caution is not sufficient to warn about possible fire when running current thru the BP100 in reverse. In my case the current...

Small 12v 100AH LiFePO4 battery system for use in a camper

Just found this info. It explains why my BP-100 was a little flakey when running the battery charger current thru it backwards. I guess I'm lucky I did not start a fire with it. Limited to about 36A reverse thru the BP. Connecting a charger to Load (Out) side of a BatteryProtect - Victron Energy...
