I went through this exact issue. I bent some tube 1 3/4" x .120 wall and welded in some roll cage connectors so that I could remove it. The feet are 3x3" 1/4" angle. Any welding shop should be able to do this pretty cheap. I have $150 in materials into it and probably 2 hours time. My roof rack...
Yes I did. Council Tool only offers sheaths for their larger tools. This is the closest that I found http://reviewog.com/product/axe-holster/ they are not taking custom orders.

I'm looking for a hatchet sheath for a Council Tool #2 14" hatchet http://counciltool.com/shop/assorted-small-axes/2-hatchet-14-curved-hickory-handle/
Price doesn't really matter, the hatchet has sentimental value. I haven't been able to find anything. Willing to go custom if someone has...
I have a few of these, very nice for the money. If they get ruined, lost or stolen, it's no worries. Very slippery, but the material is very comfortable.
Nice build! How do you feel about the bumper after having it awhile? I'm looking at buying an ARB. Do you know how much it weighs? I really like the black and red.

I have some Dewalt Tough boxes that are cheap and weatherproof. Rigid also makes some. They stack and lock together. They don't have great tie down options.
Find someone with Kings and go for a ride. I have a friend that bought fox coil overs for his Tacoma and thought they road rough. I took him for a ride in my Tundra and he said it was night and day difference. I've also read that the finish on the Kings will hold up better. They are rebuildable...
I've been wearing Lowa Renegades for years now. They make a Gortex version and a leather lined version. High and low. I get about a year and a half out of them wearing them everyday for work/play. They are not cheap, but they are very light weight and don't hurt my feet!
