My front diff came with them. They appeared to be a pretty standard metric bolt. I'm not sure of the size, but they're not shouldered or anything, just a regular bolt. And yep, each axle needs 6.
I also have a VQ series engine, granted it's the 4.0, not the 3.5, but a lot of the engine is more or less the same. I'm on 173k and still don't burn or lose a drop of oil.
I'd be concerned with that much oil loss. How many miles have you done since you last refilled the oil? If it's not...
As for breakages, I've only really broken a front diff. Wheel spin in the snow, 33s, and suddenly smashing the brakes. Not a great combination. I replaced it with an M226 and don't expect any further problems with it going forward. The M226 is very solid. There's a guy on ClubFrontier running...
That's been my observation as well.
OP, I'm really surprised your X gave you so many problems. That's highly irregular. There's a guy on TheNewX that has 350k on his with almost NO issues to date. I'm really shocked that yours was so problematic. Perhaps you bought one that was made on a Monday...
I've got 173k on my 05 Frontier and it's been almost entirely without fault. I've had to change out a few sensors here and there and a u-joint or two, but otherwise it's been excellent.
Haha watchya talking about? This is still the Nissan hangout, there is plenty of beer!
I've had mine mounted to the bumper for a few years now without a spring and it flexes a good amount. This winter we had a fairly thick layer of ice on my driveway and I was dragging it going into my garage...
One of the things I just bought was the Cobra 75. Great little radio that will clean up the interior a little bit. Besides, my current radio is fried I think. I'll be buying a handheld CB and a handheld HAM at some point in the future too.
Antenna is going nowhere. It's the perfect spot and it...
Okay now I'm jealous. I really like the ARB rear. Wish I had one. Can't wait to see pics of it installed, as well as all the other stuff! Should be a cool transformation.
Yeah it was a bit of a frightening moment haha.
The resets were pretty easy. Just needed a little time and patience. I was surprised by the difference it made, I'll be honest.
Awesome! The Oztent is an amazing setup. Quick, painless, and extremely durable. If you haven't ordered it yet...
I also forgot to mention that after I did the evap mod, I did the ECU reset, accelerator pedal release position reset, throttle valve closed position reset, and idle air volume learning procedure. Took a little time to get them all right, but I was able to make it happen, and I noticed a...
I personally like the look with the bar. I think it adds a little bit of toughness to the look. I'll agree, it does look cleaner without, but I like it with the bar.
It's very common with anyone doing dirt roads even. If you offroad, you're almost guaranteed to throw a code at some point. My friend's Xterra has it, and he hasn't really done a whole lot of wheeling. Some people don't get it for a while, others get it very quickly. It's a big topic over on...
