"Lola" - WreckDiver1321's 2005 Frontier CC/SB Nismo Build and Adventure Thread

Yeah, we stayed on a friend's land outside of Sundance a couple years back. Rain, hail, 70mph wind gusts. Tent held up incredibly well. No water inside, and it stayed up with nothing even bending at all. Then when we were up in Canada we had 36 straight hours of fairly heavy rain. We got...

"Lola" - WreckDiver1321's 2005 Frontier CC/SB Nismo Build and Adventure Thread

Took a little drive this week out to the Pryor Mountains near Lovell to try to catch a pretty sunset. Got bogged down in a little too much snow on the way up, but the sunset was good nevertheless. Can't wait until the road clears up in a few weeks and we can make it up to the sites at the end...

Haha I know what you mean. I love the way Lola bombs down the dirt. Yeah I used to own a RTT and I totally get it. For my purposes though I think the Oztent is a good compromise. Sometimes we like staying in the same spot a couple nights in a row. We've eliminated the cot now too and gone down...

I've seen some cool backseat storage systems. Be cool to see what you come up with. Yeah the topper is great for dry storage. I love having that big area to store stuff in. But yeah, I agree. I don't think I'd do the RTT on top of the topper. That's a lot of weight way up high. That being said...

Ahh okay. Sounds a bit like the Nissans. We had gears from as high as 2.94s to as low as 3.69s, depending on the engine and tranny combo. Yeah I love having a double cab. The extra space is fantastic. I can imagine you'd make packing a breeze if you took out the rear seats and set up a fridge...

Vent Control Valve Breather and Evap System Replacement I recently did a minor mod that I really wouldn't recommend worrying about unless you don't already have this check engine code or you're as anal about having the SES light on as I am. For over a year I've been throwing the P1446 code for...

4.10s are stock gears for the Tacos right? Yeah it'll be cool to see how he takes off. Be interesting to see how you do a double cab. You getting along fine with the smaller bed? Can't wait, sounds like a plan!

"Lola" - WreckDiver1321's 2005 Frontier CC/SB Nismo Build and Adventure Thread

Cool, that sounds like a good way to go. Ahhh, I didn't know that. I guess that's why I didn't see many offroad pics of his truck on the 35s. Do they hold up pretty well to 33s or is that starting to push it? Also, do you think you setting up the gears in your front diff may have been the...

Yeah haha I don't really see myself busting it with the 33s. The peace of mind from that is a nice thing. That sounds like a cool conversion. Besides the adapter for it, are the mounting points the same? I'm assuming you'd be able to use any old first gen CV too? I'm surprised the Tundras had...

    Frontier lift blocks or shackles?

I recommend the Nisstec or the PRG ones.

    Frontier lift blocks or shackles?

If you're in it for ease, go with the shackles. They'll give you the lift easily, and you'll still have a good ride. Plus the shackles will make the pack flex better. Downside... They will flatten your leafs over time. But they're a good stop-gap until you can get a new pack or AAL in there...

Igor: Double Cab 4x4. Frankensteins Helper

Yeah I saw a video of a guy hitting the Pryors today and there was very little snow. We're supposed to have high 40s temps too, so that should help. It's going to break 50 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe wheeling season will start early again this year. That'd be cool as long as it doesn't light...

Igor: Double Cab 4x4. Frankensteins Helper

Looks like a blast! I didn't do any snow wheeling this year, except for that time I blew up my diff haha. I think I'm gonna hit the dirt (snow) again on Monday. Heading down to the Pryor Mountains. Yeah the site has sucked for me too. Very slow and half the time it kinda just times out...

"Lola" - WreckDiver1321's 2005 Frontier CC/SB Nismo Build and Adventure Thread

Haha yeah it's pretty chinsy. I've got a buddy with an Xterra who is going to 33s. He's barely done any wheeling, and his rig is a manual. I told him he better start shopping for an M205 soon because he's gonna break it haha. I'll be honest, I'm really surprised mine held up as long as it did...

Yeah, it's one of the biggest weak points on these trucks. It's actually a repurposed rear axle from the 350Z. Stock is 180mm ring gear. Titan upgrade is 205mm.

"Lola" - WreckDiver1321's 2005 Frontier CC/SB Nismo Build and Adventure Thread

Because I was really sick and tired of the check engine light from the stupid vent control valve on my charcoal canister, I caved and installed a new canister and vent valve. I also ran a breather from the canister to behind the driver's side tail light. It's got a filtered valve cover breather...

Alright guys, I didn't want to leave you all out, so I decided to post the write-up of my M205 swap here so everyone can access it easily. Hope it's useful to someone haha. It's going to be a direct copy/paste from the how-to thread over on CF. Enjoy! Frontier/Xterra M205 Swap with V8...

    Frontier owners with dual batteries

There was a Tacoma guy I think who ran two smaller batteries in the stock location. If you could find a way to do it like that I'd be really interested to see that. Might even do it myself.
