I did mine with Raptor Liner and I'm happy with the product. One of the selling points of the Raptor product, and I assume Monstaliner as well, is that its UV stable. I figured this was a good thing since this vehicle was going to spend a lot more time outside than my regular vehicles.
It boggles my mind the varying experiences people have over this subject. I showed up at my DMV and said "it's a camper conversion with this, this, and that". The lady said "okie dokie" and now it's titled as an RV. Progressive told me to ppound salt and that it was and forever shall be a...
Ah crap, that slid right by me. Got the info. Meeting closer is a possibility. I'm in Florida right now scoping out an RV. I fly back to Ohio tomorrow afternoon and I'm off and running with some school concert stuff for one of my girls. I'll get with you by Thursday. Sound good?
Oh, yes...
Mud is THEE most damaging thing you can do wheeling. That crap gets everywhere, squeezes into every dang thing, and is a beyotch to clear out 100%. Loved that crap when I was a kid (like 5 years ago <BG!>) but hate it now.
That's cool and all, but I'll be dangled if I'm going to spend $10,000 + to STILL sleep in a tent, a fancy one, but still a tent. I'd buy a $2,000 utility trailer, a $1,000 tent before I went that fancy route.
Keep in mind the tuners for gas motors don't have near the effect that they will for a diesel. On a diesel you can keep adding fuel (and air) till the motor explodes. On a gasser there is only so much more fuel to be added and you run out of air. Timing can only be advanced so much and you're...
About the long and short of it. Surface scale in the bed, no rot. Un molested except for aftermarket lights, but you can have the originals if you want. Black is paint, white is plasti-dip, body is grey under the dip.
Fire off questions and I'll lie as little as possible.

I dont know that inaccurate is the word, illogical maybe. Who knows how they actually calculate the weight and what "matters" to the Ford engineers that determine them. Maybe the weight difference between the engines is made up by one's ability to haul load over the other. Maybe its not that...
The truck as pictured probably doesn't weight 5400, but I bet the truck minus that dump bed, is probably in the ball park. I would imagine that's how the factory calculated those numbers, a bare chassis cab, so in his case that bed becomes part of the payload.
I have to say, the group of "campers" that I saw at a walmart in maine were some of the spookiest I'd ever witnessed. Hard to describe, but as the family and I rolled through the parking lot past their little area I kind of got that "The Hills have Eyes" vibe. I mean these people were "camped...
Its amazing how absolutely thick-headed some people can be, especially in government offices.
This isn't on the same level but I wen to a McDs drive through once and tried to order a "2 hamburger meal deal".
"We don't have a 2 hamburger meal deal sir".
I'm looking at it on the screen, 2...
You should talk to Chris at Ujoint on the limitations of the 4" lift, and it's not really the tires. Six inch will get you those 35s with no trouble at all, and I believe Toyo makes a tire (in 17" anyway) that should work for you capacity wise.
