Mine is REALLY rough. Think really large gritty sand-in-the-paint rough. Like non-skid. I was hoping for nothing more than a heavy orange peal texture but just couldn't seem to get it out of my setup when spraying.
Kicking around the idea of selling my M-416. It's a 60s-ish model I would consider excellent condition. It's uncut and pretty much unmolested, meaning the lunette is still there and no tailgate has been chopped into it. There's nothing more severe than surface rust on the primered bed...
I don't think I'm going to be able to use any vinyl. I doubt it would stick properly to the Raptor Liner. I was going to use the wife's vinyl cutter to cut paper stencils and spray it in.
2007? Really? The last chevy truck my family owned was in 1976 and within 6 months of purchase the paint, not the primer but only the paint, was pealing off the bed side and doors.

I've started...sort of. I ordered a projector to use which should be here Thursday I think. The plan is to project the main graphic on the Ambo to get an idea on size and placement. Then illl hang some masking paper on it to record some dimensions and location markers, and when that's all...
I looked at one a few days ago, mid 90s, that was just under $30k. Guys have gone bat-******** crazy on the price because they think the 7.3 is gods gift to the automotive world and nothing else matters. Seriously. I just joined a few OBS and/or 7.3 specific groups on spacebook looking to keep my...
My van is a 1992 so I don't know what differences there may be, I'm also going by foggy memory as to how things worked whenI did my conversion.
I don't recall having to pull any signals from my tranny or xfer case. The connections may have been there depending on what vehicle they came from...
Something like that happened to me outside Vegas in a full size truck. Driving alongside a dry creek bed, fat dumb and happy and suddenly THUD, right down to the frame at all four corners. About 3" of hard crust and underneath just soup. Out in the desert I figured if I had to call a...
Pay now or pay more later. Rust is literally cancer of metal. It does not stop and it will not just go away so if you leave it be it will only get worse.
I've really not had bad luck with those harbor freight badlands (?) winches. I've not used one on a vehicle yet, but have used a couple on equipment trailers and they've performed well. I'm not a hard core wheeler likely to use my winch a bunch so odds are I'll opt for one when I get around to...
That explains some crap.
There was this dude used to work for me, little guy, but the girls just loved the snot out of him. Looked like Frankensteins friggin monster I kid you not. Not a bad looking guy but he looked like he got in a knife fight with a chainsaw and lost...badly. Besides...
Ditto. I bought a hi-lift new for $50 in 1983 when I was in California. I've wheeled with that thing from California to Maine since then and not once have I ever needed it let alone used it, and to be honest, after seeing a handful of people use one on the trail I'm not likely to. It's really...
Sweet Baby Jesus that's bright! :). I see another sucker for canine punishment. We've got a Weim 6 yrs old and boyo isn't he an experience! Biggest pain in my butt ever but if he was stuck in a burning building full of elderly wheel chair bound nuns and I could save only one, heaven...
Hard to go wrong with the bear paws. They're a good all around design. I still have the set I bought 33 yrs ago when I lived in Maine. They're old school wood and rawhide construction and not of much use since I moved to Ohio, but I could never bring myself to get rid of them.
